To me 5e is easy mode D&D once you hit 5th level, and even before that. To some that is fine, but I still prefer campaigns were PC death is not uncommon. The last campaign I ran was the Underdark campaign. When I was seeing a group of 10-12th level PC curb stomping demon princes it became...
Stuff like this is just part of us accepting the conveniences of platforms like Steam compared to owning a disc we can install the game from. Though even when I was buying games on DVD I would find that it was nothing more than a placeholder while it connected that game to Steam or Origin, etc...
Yeah, the core system of D20 wasn't very complex. It was the number of modifiers that were changing round by round. And depending on the group that could be a real PITA as people would lose track of what was what and how feat X applied to situation Y.
I like my orcs with a lot of oink. I need to find some STL files to print stuff to go along with my Otherworld minis and I'll check out those other links. Thanks!
I just lack the time or interest in rules dense systems unless. Something like Old School Essentials with the advanced books is advanced enough for me. So a simple system that has a lot of options is good. I'm playing to hang out with friends and do some adventure gaming, I'm not interested...
I ran a campaign back when I first found your mashup rules. I still have the PHB but I have lost the other PDF. These were the version before you added in some 5e stuff like proficiency bonus. Do you still have those older versions anywhere?
Cost isn't a concern for me, but my players are insanely cheap. But I already have the core books for 1e and 2e along with some of the supplements in physical and PDF so I have enough to run a campaign in either of those editions. Was just wondering if 4e did anything that would make it the...
Thanks for the replies. In print isn't really important as the cheapos I game with will probably not buy a copy of the book anyway outside of one player. I was more wondering if they "nerfed" the game to make it easier like later editions of D&D or if its still on par with classic WHFRP.

Thread necromancy.
I have 1e and 2e. The magic system looks cool on a read in 2e as magic can get out of control. Does 4e offer anything really to make it a clear choice over an earlier edition?
So does this have any impact for players like me who could not care less about PF, 5e or 1DND? Can Necrotic Gnome still publish OSE under this? Can OSRIC publish under this? Or will they have to do makeovers for all those?
