Eldon is both excited to see another halfling and nervous that he is asking about where he is from. He knows it is probably innocent enough but remains silent, pretending not to have heard him.

Rogue's get a class feature called Expertise. This allows them to select two skill proficiencies (or one skill proficiency and thieves' tools) and double their proficiency bonus for both of them. I selected perception and thieves' tools for this ability. That is why my bonus is +3.

I would be fine with maps only during combat. I think a good description should be fine for the rest.

Eldon isnt saying anything. He is trying to piece together what happened here. He thinks to himself "If I were going to hit this place how would I do it?"

Eldon would want to be either first or last. In area such as this where it appears to well used he would like to go last but before a door is opened he would like to check for traps. If we come across an area that seems to be abandoned or at least not well used he would also like to check for...
