The VOIDRUNNER'S CODEX is coming! Explore new worlds, fight oppressive empires, fend off fearsome aliens, and wield deadly psionics with this comprehensive boxed set expansion for 5E and A5E!
Quite right... I should probably have picked an example book that wasn't actually in the Companion :-D
The point I was trying to make is: A book that covers (pun!) Mythos tomes like the MoN Companion does would we awesome!
Regarding the Prop Set, that was exactly our thinking and everyone was kind enough to chip in for it. The Passports were the key mementos the players took home from the campaign.
I used the Companion mainly for additional background material for each country. The information on the Mythos tomes...
I ran the new edition a few years ago for a group of experienced players supplemented with the Deluxe Prop Set (highly recommended) and some stuff from the Companion.
It took us close to 2 years to get through it, fortnightly for the first year and weekly for the second, missing the odd session...
Both the Lustria (for WHFRP) and new Arkham (for Coc) books arrived in sunny South Africa yesterday. Amazon actually did a good job with packaging this time around... so often they just chuck the books into a way-too-large box along with some crumpled brown paper and call it a day.
Love the...
The original "Delta Green" sourcebook for Call of Cthulhu.
The writing and content is just so good. I literally read it cover-to-cover like a novel (something I hardly ever do with RPG books). The history, the conspiracies, the scenarios... just superb.
Honourable mention goes to 1e "Fiend...
For a game like Pendragon, Personality Traits and Passions are critical to your character. They have a mechanical impact as well as shape/constrain the actions of a character.
Just like in the romances the game is based on, there will be times when a player loses narrative control of his/her...
Super-amped for this!
I ran a 4-year ArM campaign in the late 90's which I consider one of my crowning achievements as a GM.
I have a full set of 3rd, 4th and 5th editions on my shelf :-)
When I was a teenager back in the 80's I was wondering if I'd still be gaming when I'm an adult. The thought of doing this 20 or 30 years from then seemed really odd.
Well, I'm now in my mid-50s and going strong. Most of my gaming buddies are around my age and while we don't have as much time as...
Pendragon has already been mentioned and I'd totally endorse that.
I'd add Ars Magica to the list. A long campaign can take the Mages and their covenant through all of the seasons from the bright and energetic Spring, the mature Summer, the height of power and prestige in Autumn and finally...
Vampire: The Masquerade
Never seen anything like it when it first came out. The style, the mechanics, theme... the audacity of the whole thing.
The One Ring
The care and attention given to staying true to the spirit of Middle-Earth was amazing. The support material was superb too.
Ars Magica...
I burned out on 7th Sea 2nd Edition.
After the PDF of the Core rules came out, I lost interest in the game. Totally not my jam. Haven't read any of the updates, new book releases or anything.
