Skills can be used in combat as a minor action. I believe this one came from Penny Arcade. It makes in-combat skill challenges more attractive to players, instead of requiring a standard action.

They haven't updated the compendium at all. I just checked Thunderwave - not identified as an evocation. It's not really that hard to do. I only noticed because I was bewailing and bemoaning the lack.

Gotcha. Interestingly, they didn't update any of the other wizard powers, but it looks like they intended to. I'll mention that to my GM :)

One question about the PDF: Wizard Schools Many powers in this section have had school key- words added. ... does anyone see school keywords actually added to powers?

I've actually started going in the opposite direction - swarms of encounters that are substantially easier than normal. Last session we finished 8 fights in 4 hours; that time also included a lot of roleplaying, dungeon exploration, and skill challenges. That's with a party of 5 6th level PCs...
