That's cool. I have a 2nd level half-ogre/tiefling who raised by leprechauns and a half-elemental drow ranger who was raised by demons and devils (adopted by a married demon-devil couple who later divorced. Dad was a demon and got him on weekends).

So regular paladins of the various oaths in the PH can be any alignment the DM allows, but oathbreaks may only be evil?

Don't rules engage "fluff" as you put it? PCs investigate a plague-stricken town. PC with medicine skill rolls to determine nature of the plague.
