I’m seeing a lot of gun in those pictures and not very much wand. I think I’m going to give this book a hard pass. I’ve already got 3e and 4e’s version of this book. I don’t really need a 3rd.
Meh. Can’t say I’m a fan of podcasts for the most part. But thanks for the summary. Will look forward to see what’s actually published in the Eberron setting book.
Except that this posits the gods did objectively exist which again is something previous editions have avoided doing (at least, that was my interpretation of the material).
I guess it will depend what’s in the book vs Crawford (or whoever) spouting off stuff for podcasts off the top of their...
One of the things that made Eberron notable is there was no knowledge if the gods existed. I see 5e is doing its classic “let’s ignore/rewrite canon”.
Like I said before: WotC doesn’t care about canon. So no one else should.
It point blank doesn’t.
Given your now reduced to basically saying “nuh uh” I’m going to leave this thread. I’ve said my piece and I don’t see how any further discussion with you will be enlightening. Enjoy your games and happy gaming!
If you are trying to claim I did this then I think your...
DMG makes it clear certain settings (and Eberron is included in the list) diverge substantially from the default. To try to claim that Eberron’s default is the core D&D default is not only controversial, but contradicted by the books themselves. Now Wayfinder’s has suggestions on how to bring it...
Okay. So it’s ultra important to you (for whatever reason) that your take on the core setting be default. Cool story bro.
I think I’ll stick with what’s in the Eberron setting books when I play in Eberron. Maybe if I was going to set a game in this core default setting you mention I’d do it...
Its the Eberron setting as outlined in the Eberron setting book.
It seems really important to you that your One True Way be acknowledged as the “default”. Is there any particular reason for that?
From the Wayfinder’s Guide
Sure seems like a setting to me.
From the 5e DMG
Yup. Settings still seem to be a thing. But it doesn’t have to be at your table of course. No “One True Way”. Right?
