My question was a bit trolly but I really would like people to think about why they like alignments. I suspect that when it comes down to it many are in favor of them because it is what they're used to.

I run my game on a laptop and reference the compendium for rules most of the time. With electronic tools my hard copy books just sit there taking up space 95% of the time anyway.
Seems to me people frequently overstate the amount of useful material we've been getting out of the typical 4e...
I'm using Masterplan along with the DDI tools and loving them all. Room for improvement everywhere of course but just having these tools as they are has been great compared to flipping through a bunch of books and scribbling in my notebook.
Just have the player sit somewhere he can't see the map, the others can give him direction all they like. Then apply normal penalties as appropriate. Hilarity ensues!
I want to thank everyone who has put their time into making these great card sets! I've been using Ander00's for my group of mostly inexperienced players and they are working great.
