What constitutes a "hit" in your mind?

I wonder whether a hit also has to be, idk, a degree removed from reality or darkness. Like, Schindler's List was popular, successful, and critically acclaimed. If you were to utter the phrase, "the hit film Schindler's List," I think people would look at you like there was something deeply...

    Penguin

Well that was brutal. He was definitely not Zsasz, I guess. Aside from that though: was Sofia's H81 4QR license plate supposed to be a reference to Harley Quinn? The driver made a big show of exposing it in that one shot. And the letters can we switched around to H4R18 Q. On the other hand...

    Penguin

It has taken me a long time to get around to this. I started watching with my Dad but he was not really interested so it got on hold after episode 3. I just finished episode 5. It is, however, a timely moment for a little necromancy because as you may have heard Cristin Milioti won an Emmy for...

    (Netflix) K-POP DEMON HUNTERS

I have said elsewhere I think the main problem with Golden is that parts of it just make no sense if you have not seen the movie. Like, they mention being a hunter in the song. If you have never seen the movie I cannot imagine how that would make any sense given what the rest of the song is about.

    General video game discussion

I do not love the design of Samus' motorcycle. I do not necessarily object to her having a motorcycle. I just... kinda dislike the aesthetic of this motorcycle.

Trailer Tron: Ares | Flynn Lives

I am starting to think great music will not be able to save it. I guess we only have one more month to wait to find out either way.

    Trailer The Rip

Ordinarily I would probably not care much either way for a movie with this premise. Nor is "starring Matt Damon" or "starring Ben Affleck" a particular selling point for me. But "starring Matt Damon AND Ben Affleck" gets me. It's a buddy film, except they are buddies in real life rather than in...

Time travel doesn't exist because time travel wiped out the timelines where it did

I would prefer that by the time someone figures out how to do time travel they have also figured out that time travel is so dangerous and vile that its purveyors and all blueprints for it must be annihilated.

    Trailer Dust Bunny

This looks like it could be promising. Stars Mads Mikkelson, Sigourney Weaver, and David Dastmalchian.

    Star Wars: Starfighter

Stallone was 64 when The Expendables came out, and I think Jackie Chan was 58 when "he took a step back" from doing quite as much. I think part of it is that the actors who make these films are just the best at conveying a particular feeling.

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I am not particularly interested in painting miniatures but I have been playing so much Total War: Warhammer this year that I am tempted to buy a Warhammer Fantasy miniature just to have one.

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

The Thunderbolts are very relatable if you think you are a loser. I mean, maybe your average loser has killed one or two fewer people than Yelena, but as a general type... Anyway - I think there is a fine line between the adoration of a crowd and the adoration of a small group of people. Like...

    Spoilers THUNDERBOLTS* (spoilers I guess?)

Saw it an it definitely seemed like a worthwhile effort. Was a bit sad that Taskmaster was just killed off. Maybe it is not coincidental that Ghost did the deed - the consolation prize for also being a bit underdeveloped. They really went in on Chekov's gun there, what with the comment about how...

    Star Wars: Starfighter

Would be hilarious if Amy Adams finally got an Oscar for a Star Wars film.

    Tales From Woodcreek

I do not recognize everyone but yeah, that cast is pretty stacked. A Young Avenger, a Sand Snake, a mainstay of Canadian political comedy, and a space cadet. And Anjali Bhimani, who people have probably seen or heard more than they might realize.
