I adore my monthly Arcadia, so many great ideas, and really brings me back to the heydays of Dragon/Dungeon, but without actually going backward.

I remember the good old days when the previews for 3E were being released periodically and how mind-blowingly transformative the switch from 2E to 3E was. And when Gary Gygax (RIP) would, comment in the forums here! Really magical times. Congratulations on taking it forward another 20 years!

No necromancers, no enchanters, no transmuters, no abjurers, no summoners, no diviners. I can't convert the magic university that was the focal point of my campaign world. I can cobble together a semblance of it from the blaster and controller wizard builds with a dash of warlock stuff...

I was contemplating doing something similar to this, but chickened out. This is awesome. Thanks for all the time and effort you've obviously put into this.

I agree that the main characters in the Jhereg books are completely twinked out. I was thinking more along the lines of actually making a Vlad Taltos-like character. A rogue on the Assassin paragon path with Ritual Casting as a feat. The magic that Vlad uses in the books is all ritual magic...

The brief glimpse of ritual magic we got here really intrigues me. It looks like, those who want a low-magic game can totally cut divine and arcane power sources and use ritual magic as the "only" magic in their game. Also, was I the only one to think, "Vlad Taltos" re: the ritual magic rules?
