Dragonlance Dragonlance Author Tracy Hickman Has His DRAGONS OF DECEIT Advanced Copies!

The blurb is basically "how to say that WotC is retconning all of Drangolance to better fit Current Year ideals without actually saying that".

DMs Guild New mystery adventure - The Queen of Spades

Six murders in a single night! A major city in the Forgotten Realms is rocked by a series of gruesomely bizarre deaths of notable citizens. What mysterious murderer could have slain six people in different corners of the city? Why did the criminal leave a playing card at each scene? Could a...

D&D 5E The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. If it looks like a picture of the Great Wall of China, has battlements like the Great Wall of China, and curves like the Great Wall of China, then it is probably a pastiche of the Great Wall of China.

I know that the spirit of True Fandom nowadays is "always trust a billion-dollar corp to make no mistakes, consume product, get excited for new product", but I reserve the right to reasonable criticism, thank you.

I take your "it's magic!" and counter it with "suspension of disbelief".

D&D 5E The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

Even as a causeway, it is also laughably impractical, because it winds and bends with no good reason. If it has a practical use of leading somewhere, why the hell isn't it straight? Oh, I know why. Because the Great Wall of China in the real world winds and bends a lot. Except it was built in...

D&D 5E The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

Excellent. Why do you need a wall then when you can you easily "fly" around it? Why do you need a causeway then when you can you easily "fly" around it?

Building a wall in the air is kinda cool-looking but so laughably impractical no amount of "rule of kewl" and "style over substance" is going to justify that.

Especially the one about crazy goblins launching a Candlekeep tower into space. However, I do agree that "too comedic" is a weird choice of criticism for CM. There are many, many much more glaring flaws there, something you would never learn from the absurdly positive reviews.

D&D 5E The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

Exactly. LotR is NobleDark, as in "there is terrible adversity, loss, and destruction in the world, but the heroes will go through hell and back and triumph in the end, bringing in a new age of peace". It is tragic but ultimately optimistic. The humorous elements there are a natural outflow of...

D&D 5E The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

So, a Planescape for Zoomers, which is supposed to be magical and otherworldly but seems largely similar to California in the current year? Well, at least they are not ruining Sigil like they have ruined Ravenloft and making an umpteenth attempt to create an off-brand interplanar metropolis...

D&D 5E Mythological Figures: Van Helsing

CR 5 creature? With 14 AC and 33 hp? And a single attack for puny damage? Also, hiding each round with with a Stealth modifier of +2? Are you sure you haven't bungled up the CR? Because will go down like a chump against a 3rd, maybe even a 2nd-level party, to say nothing of a run-of-the-mill...
