    Remorhaz

The Remorhaz is underrated for its CR. This is one of the creatures I have seen complained about the most in threads over the years, and the Remorhaz is fully capable of causing a TPK to most seventh level parties. DMs usually manage to bypass that by having the Remorhaz retreat once it...

Pogre's New Story Hour with Mini pics - (12/7 The Final Update)

It appears my calcuations were off by about 13 or so episodes. But as was foretold by the great prophets of the elder age, the Great Gerhardt was unable to be felled by any mortal blade. Lo, though he now finds himself besotten by drink, soon he shall rise up once more to lead the faithful to...

Problem Player in Group... Me :(

Jduging from what you have said here, I would calcuate your character to be the weakest in the group, actually. You do minimal damage, have little to no support capabilities, and any tanking ability you have is negated by the fact no one targets you. At higher levels, you are only going to get...

Teen Titans: Your thoughts and mine...

Anyone see "Car Trouble" other than me? I thought it was one of the best episodes yet, and the art was really fantastic. I loved the character interaction between Cyborg and Raven. They showed two new episodes back in November, but not at the regular time, so I suppose most of you may have...

    Alignment and a Prisoner...

I think that the reason alignment is not applied consistently is because too few people view it as the mechanic and rule it is. That can be evidenced even by the fact that alignment threads are always left in General Discussion, rather than moved to the D&D Rules forum.

    Alignment and a Prisoner...

Applied consistently in one campaign equates to a house rule. Alignment it supposed to be a core rule, which means it is supposed to be applied consistently across all campaigns.

    Alignment and a Prisoner...

You know, Hong, I might be able to buy that line about the DM if it was not for the fact practically every one I have ever seen does do that. Particularly with classes that rely on a certain alignment for class features, like Paladins, and to a lesser extent Monks and Barbarians. As for the...

The Book of Exalted Deeds - It's Here! (merged - full ToC posted)

The nudity violates the spirit of the book. It is supposed to be a book about the Good alignment in D&D, while nudity is clearly CE. If you do not believe me, imagine an Illithid nude.

    Alignment and a Prisoner...

I always have fun. Now, I have been on these boards since the pre dawn of 3.0E, so I have seen plenty of alignment wars. It is precisely because of those alignment threads that I think there should be one way, and one way alone to view alignment. It is a mechanic just as much as an attack...

    Alignment and a Prisoner...

Wraithdrit asked for opinions on the situation presented. Most operate from the standpoint is playing by the standard rules of the game, and point out what actions should be taken based on that. If the DM is just going to ignore those rules, and doesn't really care what anyone else thinks, why...

The Book of Exalted Deeds - It's Here! (merged - full ToC posted)

The BoVD was a superior product, written by perhaps the most well known and well respected author amongst the D&D community. The BoED does not share that distinction, so it is only natural people view it with more skepticism.

The Book of Exalted Deeds - It's Here! (merged - full ToC posted)

I appreciate the idea of Mercy Vs. Justice. That is a valid moral quandary, requiring both temperance and wisdom to be dealt with appropiately. It is also an issue that will vary from encounter to encounter. What I would have liked to see are examples of such quandaries, and an explanation of...

Ebert gives Texas Chainsaw remake 0 stars

Occassionally Ebert writes a review like this, and it is his greatest quality as a movie critic. Anyone remember his review of the first Charlies Angels film? That made me crack up laughing.
