D&D 5E [Poll] Are Dragonmark races allowed in your game?

Eberron: Rising from the Last War introduces Dragonmarked races. These marked races have an expended spell list, along with some minor magical abilities. The races added are Dwarf: Warding Elf: Shadow Gnome: Scribing Half-elf: Detection, Storm Halfling: Healing, Hospitality Human, Half-orc...

D&D General Best VTT for the most players?

I tried Roll20, Fantasy Grounds, and Foundry VTT. I would say that Foundry VTT is both the cheapest of the options available, and the most powerful. It's fast, it has good FoW and lighting system, and the amount of customization via modules is very impressive. The automation is worst than...

    D&D 5E Monks Suck

It's not - but if your character can't do good damage, it better offers some decent healing/support/control on the battlefield. The Monk, unfortunately, is a poor controller as well. The OP's summary of Treantmonk's video is unfortunately missing important parts of his analysis, which gives...

    D&D 5E Monks Suck

    1) How do arrive at these numbers? For example at level 5 I'm getting Monk DPR of (2*4.5 + 3.5)*0.65 + 4*3*0.60 = 15.325, and SR damage equals to 5(3.5*0.65 + 4*0.60) = 23.375, for effective DPR of 18.24687. 2) What maneuver is the BM performing? I assume a maneuver that gives 4.5 damage and...

    D&D 5E Monks Suck

Problem is, the Monk's damage is lackluster (about Treantmonk's baseline damage for levels 1-9 if you go all-in on offense). If you took the Mobile feat instead of boosting Dex, it's even worse. Adding a minor effect to bad damage doesn't save a class that has poor tanking, no spells, poor...

    D&D 5E Fire Attacks

Necrotic is actually rarely resisted. You are probably thinking of Poison or Cold.

D&D 5E Would it break the Ranger to give him Natural Explorer in every terrain?

Agreed it is strange, but then again - the PHB Ranger learns two additional favored terrains, at level 6 and 10, without a prerequisite requirement of having been in said terrain.

D&D 5E Would it break the Ranger to give him Natural Explorer in every terrain?

Like many, I find the base chassis of the Ranger underwhelming. In my opinion, this is in large part due to the "Natural Explorer" ability only working in a specific favored terrain. If that terrain is not encountered, the Ranger really isn't any better at exploring than the rest in the party...

D&D 5E [Poll] Are any of the subclasses underpowered?

Yeah, that infamous Fireball needs to go. Maybe change the "Fireball" to a custom explosion effect that does Xd8 damage, where X is the number of levels of the Sorcerer?

D&D 5E [Poll] Are any of the subclasses underpowered?

Warlock is excellent at tier 1 (level 1-4). The problem is that Warlock becomes subpar compared to other full casters at tier 2 (level 5-9), and outright not functional at tier 3 & 4.

D&D 5E Clerics of Life: Broken, Bad Design, or Working as Intended?

That's your problem right there. Life Clerics shine the most in large parties, where they can fully take advantage of Disciple of Life + Mass Healing Word (6*5=30 bonus hp), and for Preserve Life to bring multiple folks up from 0HP. In your average four-man party, Life Cleric is mediocre.

D&D 5E [Poll] Are any of the base classes too weak?

jib916 voted for every single class on the list. I'm not sure what to make of that.

D&D 5E [Poll] Are any of the subclasses underpowered?

I've added the Knowledge Cleric. For records, the poll is currently at 21 votes total.

D&D 5E [Poll] Are any of the subclasses underpowered?

I've now added the Assassin Rogue.
