The game might be good,
Or it might be really bad,
refrigerator
Ok maybe something without a one word end
Neverwinter needs,
heroes to save it from the
darkness of the cold
I agree tailor them to the PCs. It is cliche but can be fun to give everyone a moment to shine or get in trouble. But also set up each mini quest differently so they aren't all fetch and carry. PCs are heroes not FedEx.
A Charismatic character can convince the guards to let them in with their...
After running a lot of 3.X I am done with that game and the derivatives of it. It took too much time and often for little payoff. It also really encouraged PCs that made me shake my head. A human paladin couldn't use a warhorse in a dungeon, the solution make him a halfling or gnome and now the...
If I'm using a battle map I want as much info there for me and for my players. So a binary representation on cover or not cover is required. If it is superior or regular I might rule as a DM, while attempting to provide some distinction on the map. But it will still be clear there is cover to...
I liked 2nd Eds System assuming they were used to show things the PCs did exceptionally well. There are several places where the game improperly or split its defeinition of a skill.
1) These are what your PCs do well. Other things they might be able to do but aren't experts at.
2) These are...
There seemed to be a great deal of discussion in this thread about how to do this and if it could be done how broken it was.
I was trying to show that is wasn't something that would create a game breaking combination. In fact specializing to that degree was a poor choice of effort.
But I do...
DM's solution to this
If a player is that heavily invested then they are making a mistake. As I recall the rules there is a way to prevent many of those OAs:
In a situation like that. After the first one or two guys goes and finds out about the threatening reach the rest ready actions to...
Reaper mini
That was from the Exalted line. Which obviously tied into the White Wolf Exalted RPG. You might want to check out some Exalted boards to see if anyone has an extra. Also email reaper directly sometimes they have things in the boneyard they can't legally sell because the license has...
I agree with most others here.
The boots say you take half normal damage. So you take half the damage then acrobatics away what you can.
This is based on the assumption that normal falling damage means the total falling damage before modifiers.
This new modified damage would then be applied...
I'd suggest ranger with the hunter build from MP2. Lots of powers that wither have you melee attack with 2 weapons or throw then run up and attack. Etc.
I think you are missing the point. Having PCs buy keeps, maintain guilds, taverns, etc... is a great money sink for PCs. It is a way to have easy plot hooks. Arsonists are burning down the city stop them before they get to your stuff (or they burned your stuff while you were away adventuring)...
My guess is that it is unlikely we will see them as new minis but more a cost saving measure to reuse art. Dreamblade had a lot of cool art and promotional art that could be used elsewhere.
None of those minis seemed to be in the pics posted of teh WotC booth minis for the 2010 set to be released.
I wouldn't allow save to shake off affects that last until end of <Something's> next turn.
1) PCs have more ways of granting friends saves than monsters do
2) If the affect is on a monster's basic attack and it happens during the PCs turn because of a opportunity attack, the PC could save...
Also while unconcious 0 hp or below, the PC still sufferes from ongoing affects adn can attempt to save against them. As well as the saving throw vs death, which must be made each round at 0hp or bellow
and as somebody already pointed out If a 20+ is rolled on the save vs death they can spend a...
