Just a quick reply to say thanks for doing these Merrick. I'm sometimes tempted to go and get some of these old ones so it is nice to have a review to see if I think it would fit for my games.

That brings back memories of going over there and buying stuff when even Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson would still be serving on the counter in the early 80s.

I mainly use Vallejo as I am able to get them at a good price and they are pretty reliable after putting in a lot of shaking to get them properly mixed.

In most of my RPG campaigns the castles or fortifications are semi-appropriate to the background - e.g. medieval european style in D&D games despite them not really being designed to cope with flying attackers or magic.

About 70-80 books and printed magazines. There is plenty for me to game with and I don't have a blazing urge to add much more.

There are probably more different RPG available now, particularly if you count pdf or other electronic only releases in the sales. Because of the amount of free electronic versions of some games it's hard to have accurate sales figures across all formats. D&D has historically been the market...

Thanks, but as I have played all three games it was surprising how much of the rules I'd remembered and I did want to do them justice which is why its so long.
