    Benefits of playing D&D

Well to misquote Albert Camus "All I know most surely about morality and obligations, I owe to Dungeons & Dragons. Kill them and take their stuff".

Merric's Erratically Updated Reviews of old D&D adventures

Just a quick reply to say thanks for doing these Merrick. I'm sometimes tempted to go and get some of these old ones so it is nice to have a review to see if I think it would fit for my games.

First Ever GAMES WORKSHOP Store Is Being Demolished

That brings back memories of going over there and buying stuff when even Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson would still be serving on the counter in the early 80s.

Which acrylic paints do you recommend?

I mainly use Vallejo as I am able to get them at a good price and they are pretty reliable after putting in a lot of shaking to get them properly mixed.

    D&D General Welcome Thread

I thought I'd post in this thread even though I'm a returning member rather than a complete newcomer. I've been playing RPG, primarily D&D for nearly 40 years now with my favourite games being Runequest2, B/X D&D and Paranoia. I've played plenty of others but never got as keen on them as those...

    Castle or Not?

In most of my RPG campaigns the castles or fortifications are semi-appropriate to the background - e.g. medieval european style in D&D games despite them not really being designed to cope with flying attackers or magic.

How big is your RPG collection?

About 70-80 books and printed magazines. There is plenty for me to game with and I don't have a blazing urge to add much more.

More games, and gaming, now than ever before?

There are probably more different RPG available now, particularly if you count pdf or other electronic only releases in the sales. Because of the amount of free electronic versions of some games it's hard to have accurate sales figures across all formats. D&D has historically been the market...

    Comparative RPG review: C&C, RQ2, WFRP2

Thanks, but as I have played all three games it was surprising how much of the rules I'd remembered and I did want to do them justice which is why its so long.

    Wilderlands of High Fantasy

The background, this was the first setting published for D&D predating Greyhawk. It was published in a number of parts with the City State of the Invincible Overlord and Wilderlands of High Fantasy coming first followed by a number of other areas such as the Fantastic Wilderlands Beyonde, City...

    RuneQuest 2

Runequest is set in the world of Glorantha, which was created by Greg Stafford originally and used as the setting for the White Bear Red Moon boardgame. This has several features which were unusual at the time it was published and it is still a distinctive setting with a different approach to...

    Whatever happened to....?

Judges Guild For the others that used to use the JG material a lot the people that I've got any info on are: Bob Bledsaw - sadly passed away now Paul Jacquays - working in the computer game industry now, occasionally appears on RPG forums to say hello.

    Reviews - couple of questions

Ok, I'll get working on it and submit them then.

    Reviews - couple of questions

    1. Can I put the old reviews that I did manually into the new reviews area (e.g. I create a new review using the old text that I had created)? This is because the old reviews are tricky to access. 2. Trying to remember what we can and can't review. Are non D&D /D20, etc RPG reviews acceptable...
