    D&D 5E Xanathar's Elven Accuracy

____ That's correct. But the question isn't "What is the the average throw of a) 1d20, b) 2d20 drop 1 and c) 3d20 drop 2" but: "My opponent has AC 18. Since I have a +5 proficiency in my weapon, I need a 13 to hit. What is the propability to throw at least one 13 with a) 1d20, b) 2d20 and c)...

D&D 5E [GUIDE] Pacts, Patrons, and Power, a Warlock guide

What I forgot: Nice guide though I don't necessarily agreed with all of it. ;-) The Armor of Shadows, though only AC+1 compared to studded leather, saved my ass quite some times. Unlike Pathfinder or earlier editions, in 5e every point of AC is important. But as soon as you multiclass with...

    D&D 5E Xanathar's Elven Accuracy

In the Lost Lands setting, Mitra is the emerging new god of law, justice and the sun, gradually replacing the older deities Thyr (law and justice) and Solanus (sun and healing), combining their domains. And yes, the basic idea of the character is that he first has to prove his loyalty under the...

D&D 5E [GUIDE] Pacts, Patrons, and Power, a Warlock guide

Could you please post ability score and proficiencies/spells you have so far? Otherwise people can give you just some general suggestions: pick non-warlock cantrips for your Book of Shadows (e.g. Shillelagh for melee, shocking grasp to get out of melee without provoking an attack of opportunity...

    D&D 5E Xanathar's Elven Accuracy

Just Mitra. My patron is a solar out of Mitra's domain. As a logic, if you have a celestial warlock, you shouldn't have a CE deity (and if you are a feind warlock, no LG god, of course) OK, I see. Didn't get that. We wil see. But if the patron himself is a servant of the god to become cleric...

    D&D 5E Xanathar's Elven Accuracy

Yes, but how to explain that Mitra, Thyr and Solanos have become forgery gods all of a sudden? :D My GM wouldn't allow that unless the cleric domain suits to the god's domain. That is correct but since you attack only every second true, True Strike renders quite an useless spell. Unless... you...

    D&D 5E Xanathar's Elven Accuracy

Since I get into melee with multiple opponents in almost every fight: yes, I get often enough to matter (for multiclassing at all to become proficient with medium armour, not for multiclassing with fighter in particular). As for the enchantment: This isn't Pathfinder. PCs are not allowed to...

    D&D 5E Xanathar's Elven Accuracy

Yes of course, same goes for swapping spells. The general idea is taking just one level cleric and the rest warlock. I am just wondering whether I am better off with taking + 2 CHA (leaving out elven accuracy) and one level fighter (defense fighting style) instead since this means another +1 on AC.

    D&D 5E Xanathar's Elven Accuracy

I have another idea for this feat: Celestial Warlock (Half-Elf), Level 7. STR 8, DEX 14, CON 16, INT 10, WIS 12, CHA 16. On Level up, I don't take +2 on CHA, but Elven Accuracy and +1 on WIS. Then I multiclass with Cleric. That gives me proficiency with shield and medium armour, boosting my AC...

    D&D 5E Xanathar's Elven Accuracy

It always comes to the same result: Elven Accuracy (like many other feats) are only good if you have an odd ability score. If your ability score is even, it hardly outweighs the +2 on your primary attribute. As for Elven Accuracy, before getting a three dice advantage on attacks, you have to get...

D&D 5E [GUIDE] Pacts, Patrons, and Power, a Warlock guide

Greater Invisibility also gives you an advantage, but like Darkness and Shadow of Moil, this is a concentration spell so that you can't cast Hex which means you do without that 1d6 necrotic extra damage on every blast which is not worth it. additionally, Darkness also affects your fellow party...

D&D 5E [GUIDE] Pacts, Patrons, and Power, a Warlock guide

First, Elven Accuracy gives you +1 DEX, not +1 CHA. Second, yes, you get triple advantage. Provided that you have advantage at all. To get advantage, you have to cast the cantrip True Strike, for example, which has three cons: 1. you have to use an action so that you can only attack every second...

D&D 5E [GUIDE] Pacts, Patrons, and Power, a Warlock guide

Sorry, can't see an advantage in this over raising CHA by 2, thus increasing spell casting ability (and therefore spell save DC and spel attack bonus) by 1. My starting ability score for the half-elf warlock is STR 8 (0 points), DEX 13+1 (5 points), CON 15+1 (9 points), INT 10 (2 points), WIS 12...

D&D 5E [GUIDE] Blade, Book, and Chain: the Warlock Guide

I am currenty playing a Celestial Warlock and this helped a lot. If you are interested, I give you a quick overview on my built: Race: Half-elf (Tiefling and Dragonborn at not allowed by the GM since these races are too much stigmatized to work without getting into trouble in the gaming world...
