The VOIDRUNNER'S CODEX is coming! Explore new worlds, fight oppressive empires, fend off fearsome aliens, and wield deadly psionics with this comprehensive boxed set expansion for 5E and A5E!
Personally I've always hated rapiers, but it has nothing to do with rules or mechanics. I just prefer medieval weapons to the Renaissance. Also I hate the idea of swashbucklers in my games. However, I don't ban or nerf rapiers when I DM.
Personally, I think Great Weapon Style is a joke compared to how good Dueling Style is. Unless you have the GWM feat, it's pretty much never worth using a two-handed weapon. Great Weapon Style should add a straight +4 dmg per hit, rather than the weak dice shenanigans it gives you. If it added...
I love psionics but the Mystic has been a huge disappointment for me. The "one size fits all" approach is the culprit here. There should be three different psionic classes: a mindf--king "Psion" type caster class, a beefy "Psychic Warrior" martial class, and a stealthy and crafty "Soulknife"...
I dunno, you could make just as strong a case for Stone Sorcerer: Mage Armor that's tied to Con instead of Dex, and shield and martial weapon proficiency, as well as +1 HP per level. Not a bad package really.
Meh, personally I find that subclasses have very little impact on the core class. All they add is maybe two additional abilities, the rest of them occur at levels too high for anyone to reasonably reach. Mechanically, Subclasses are a bit of a letdown. They give the illusion of options, without...
I'm talking about mechanics, what does creativity have to do with it? My group is 6th level right now and I'm playing a single classed Tomelock. Meanwhile, a friend of mine is playing a Bard who dipped two levels in Warlock, and he's better than my character at basically everything. When a class...
I have a pretty intense distaste for the 5E Warlock, it is a horribly designed class. It has basically one thing going for it: Eldritch Blast and the Agonizing Blast Invocation. I've only ever seen one person play a Warlock past 2nd level, which was me. And I very much regretted that decision...
I really don't want to turn this thread into an edition war. I'll just say that 5E is too simple and limited for my tastes. I like crunch and dislike any rules light system. Everyone has their preferences.
I'd love to see a new edition of Gamma World, but NOT based on the D&D 5E rules. I'm not a fan of that system at all. I'd like to see an entirely new company take on the task of reviving Gamma World.
The issue with Barbs is rage is ridiculously easy to neutralize. Fear, charm, really any mental effect will pull a Barb out of rage. Especially with their garbage Wisdom saves.
Why play a Fighter or Barbarian when Paladins are better than both? It comes down to personal preference really. Play...
Personally I don't think the issue is with this race or that race. I think the issue is that two of most classes in a party is too many. I feel it's rude for someone else to bring a monk into the game when you're already playing one.
You're correct, the ups and downs of Fighters are a different thread altogether. I was just taking a guess as to why people might not want to play Fighters.
