Thanks for the help. I definately want to use some kind of terrifying creature. The idea I'm going with is that the army that has gone up against the creature has basically been devastated, and the party has to find another way to defeat the creature rather than brute force.

I'm looking for a good mapping software program to create maps for my adventures, I'd prefer free, but I might settle for cheap as long as there was a trial before purchasing. Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm using wet erase markers, which work well, I'm just looking for the best way to clean the mat after I'm done with the map. I was thinking baby wipes would work, I've always got them around, but I'm not sure if they will damage the mat.
