    Let's see... you're better off hitting fighter level 5 for that extra attack instead of getting it via Thirsting Blade. Also, Life Drinker requires level 12. If anything, I'd reccomend you going fighter 5, getting a 2 level dip on warlock for flavor and then going straight back to fighter...

    My very first 5E character is almost done, and it's hoping to get a spot on a pbp game elsewhere. Since this forum uses a different code I cannot repost it here, but he's basically a fighter 1 going into warlock later (from level 2 to 20), DEX/CHA build with Crossbow Expert from Human Variant.

    I've been tinkering for a day an a half already on different iterations of a low level warlock. For a no DEX build, I'd say: Human (variant) Fighter 1/ Warlock 1: Heavy Armor Mastery (feat), Blade Ward, Amor of Agathys. Gear: Splint Mail, Shield, Longsword.     You can retrain one every time you level as warlock.

    Those last 2 "whatever" levels are usually quite sweet on all classes. An abilty bump and a 20th level class ability seem like a good trade for 5 1d10+cha bolts, one other invocation and level 1 spell.

    You'll get that at 9th level. IMO at 5th level with 15/15 it's already good enough to be one of your 2 spells you'll be using per fight. At lower levels Fiendish Vigor is the invocation to go to for temp HP.

    5 temp hp & 5 ice damage while the temp hp is still up is really lame. However at level 5 it turns into 15 & 15, which combined with damage resistance from Blade Ward turns into a very interesting endeavour.

    So far, I'm getting Deja-Vu from the 4E "digital tools" release. Let's see if they've learnt anything in the last couple of years. At the very least we should be getting layered maps and character creator/sheets for phones/tablets.
