For a printed book, all together seems better, probably alphabetically, as annoying as that can be. This way, you can always know where to find it, unlike be class or school. Also prevents duplicates

Idea I've had: number of warlock spell slots=proficiency bonus, regain all back on SR once per LR. Might be too good, never actually tried this.

At this point in 5e, I dont think they'd be a good idea. (Basically) everything so far has been without restrictions. Now, if a setting was built lore and mechanics wise with them in mind, I think they'd be ok.
