I don't know if I'd group Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes in the same category as Xanathar's Guide. MToF is far more DM favoring and Lore strong than the Player focused XG. I really like both books, and I feel MToF is stronger than Volo was.

Gnomes are highlighted very well in my opinion. Nine pages of lore, they added the Deep Gnome subclass. I really like the distinctions between Rock Gnomes and Forest Gnomes too. Plenty about their deities too.

You know, it's weird because they spent some time in the Dwarves chapter detailing some of the different styles of Dwarves in realms like Dragonlance, etc. they didn't really do a lot of that for any other race though.

It seems like the conduct of the elf in life has a connection as to whether they transcend or not. Even Non-Drow elves can end up being denied if they don't live up to expectations. There is a line after this that claims Drow never transcend but perhaps they can if they follow the surface elven...

They have two! A Musket and a Pistol. Both deal pretty solid damage and have decent range. Plus the Giff come packaged with an ability (feat?) Called "Firearms Knowledge" that allows them to ignore the loading properties of both weapon types.
