The VOIDRUNNER'S CODEX is coming! Explore new worlds, fight oppressive empires, fend off fearsome aliens, and wield deadly psionics with this comprehensive boxed set expansion for 5E and A5E!
Or you can do neither. Don't take EB, Hex and the associated invocations, instead pick spells and invocation with little though on how you are going to use them.
You certainly don't need EB to play an effective warlock in 5e, but if you don't know what you're doing then it's easy to end up with...
If you have time to prepare then you can have each ambusher repeat the hide action until they roll well and hide properly, and you can have some characters using the help action to give advantage on the stealth check for others. Then you just need to wait for the targets to show up and hope that...
Depends on how you angle it. Maybe you're not really a devout follower, you've just learned how to word your prayers to get your god to actually answer them.
WotC has stated that they are working on the "first major mechanical expansion" to 5E, so it looks like a break with the regular release cycle. I doubt it will be called "advanced" though, the name AD&D has too much baggage. 5E is arguably more "advanced" than 2E AD&D already, at least if you...
That's what I do too. If I want an NPC that mimics a PHB class I will give them whatever features borrowed from that class I find appropriate, but never straight class levels.
It sounds like a cool item. Most 5E fights are short and the first rounds are the most important ones, so this item will only rarely reach its full power. It's strong but nowhere near overpowered.
Over time there will be a pattern of the berserker failing where other STR based characters succeed. If the people in your group don't notice or remember patterns then I suppose you'll be fine. You shouldn't assume that others are the same way though, pattern recognition is a typical trait of...
The mechanical penalties of the first levels of exhaustion aren't that bad, but I really dislike the idea of playing a strong fightery character who is constantly worn out and has serious trouble doing feats of strength etc. Makes him seem more like a joke character.
I'm sure you could come up...
That ruling seems weird to me. I always figured that "willing creature" meant "not resisting", and since unconscious characters can't resist they have no choice but to be "willing". These spells require willing targets because they are so trivial to resist that there's no need for a saving...
The champion fighter is the class you're looking for, no need to make decisions just roll to hit with every action.
However, my experience is that players who are best suited for a simple character are just as likely to pick a more complicated class. Just because they have problems deciding on...
EDIT: Double post :( Here's a joke instead:
Two dragons walk into a bar... and one says, 'It's hot in here', and the other dragon says, 'Shut your mouth.'
