Just moved from Florida to the Boston area in August 2015. I've played D&D off and on all my life, and also play Magic and various board games.
For D&D: I love experiencing a story with friends and playing through combat and/or skill challenges. I don't get super into my character's head or their history, and don't enjoy players who are like "I'm doing this annoying thing because it's what my character who I made up and control would do." I'm also not interested in power-gaming or min/maxing. I just want to be in a fantasy story and do some sweet combat moves.
For Magic: I'm about 60% Timmy and 40% Johnny. Playing against Spikes isn't fun -- it's tedious. I like getting together at a friend's place once a week for casual constructed games. I've been out of the game since around Innistrad, but I'd like to play again.
For board games: A few of my favorites are Betrayal at House on the Hill, Ticket to Ride, and Wiz-War. Seven Wonders is growing on me. But I'm open to try anything, especially co-op games!
