Original DUNGEONS & DRAGONS = Led Zeppelin
ADVANCED DUNGEONS & DRAGONS = Black Sabbath
ADVANCED DUNGEONS & DRAGONS 2nd EDITION = Hair Metal
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, 3rd EDITION = nu-Metal
DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, 4th EDITION = lmfao
Seriously? And you didn't get the faintest idea this is edition warring...
Now let's be very clear about something here, I'm not saying I don't like D&Dn; on the contrary I've playtested it, turned it over and inside out (as it currently stands). I would play it instead of AD&D if it was the only D&D being offered or if it and 4e were being offered. I know, at least...
At first I thought ol' Herschel there was trolling, but no, it's an impassioned plea to give some meaning and texture back to spells. I, like Umbran, well recall seeing Tenser's Floating Discin the copy of B2 KEEP ON THE BORDERLANDS (which was the only - rules included - D&D book I had for...
Hm, that is interesting and, I must say, a little disappointing about the binding. I intend to do some editing on the article and will correct accordingly.
They are extremely well put together; my hat's off to them. Cloth binding, solid construction, the works. If I were a crazy billionaire...I'd buy WIZARDS OF THE COAST and make AD&D the default game forever! Ahem. I'd disassemble one of the books down to the core components to show off how it...
Hey folks,
I just posted up a review of the reissued 1e AD&D books on the main page of my website. I know a lot of people either got them today and haven't had a chance to pick them up or are eagerly awaiting them via UPS or Fedex from an online purchase. I apologize for the photos, and...
Resting/healing was my only major gripe outside of magic, and unlike previous editions removing and replacing it doesn't seem particularly onerous, so if this 5e becomes a regular Thing, I can just go back to how AD&D does it (same with magic).
Other than those two systems I'm OK with what I've...
Yeah, it ain't happenin'.
Pity; I wanted to see the differences between my last closed playtest info and this one, but it's not like I can't/haven't seen it at all.
First of all, that's close to edition warring, so thanks for that.
Second of all, I don't want the "playing field leveled". I want there to be a time when fighters shine, and other times when magic users shine, other times when thieves shine.
Suffice to say we have very different philosophies...
Going forward, let me say that this doesn't discuss mechanics much. I read what 4e players write about mechanics and get a serious case of MEGO (to be fair I also do when reading PATHFINDER and 3e mechanics discussion) so sadly for people who delve (ha!) deeply into that, there's none of it...
