What would you like to see in a new game store?

May want to look into Tact-Tiles. There have been several threads here talking about them. Also, I saw reviews in Dragon 323 and Dungeon 116.

New D&D Aide Product (at least to me...)

I would recommend Expo, chisel tip, at least four colors. I haven't noticed any problems with staining, so red or yellow are OK too. The low odor or scented variety work well with the tiles and won't kill your brain cells as quickly ;).

    Which battlemat to get?

Tiles don't roll up, but they do stack. Stacked tiles are much more portable than rolled up mats. ;)

    Which battlemat to get?

Haven't noticed the thicker lines to be a problem, but I usually use chisel tip markers. The grid line color is a brownish orange, and even if you mark with a brown or orange marker, there still seems to be plenty of contrast. A lighter colored line on top of the grid lines can be more...

    Which battlemat to get?

I pre-draw all my dungeons. If you use the foam spacers, the drawing can be transported virtually intact (you may have to do a little touch up). The foam spacers kind of grip the tiles and don't allow them to slide and thereby "wipe" the surface. Also, if you allow the drawing to dry for a...

    Handling maps in your game

One other alternative product I would recommend is Tact-Tiles at www.bc-products.net. I got a set a few months ago and they work great. They are 10"x10"x1/8" thick tiles with a 1" grid and DRY ERASE! The tiles interlock to form a solid playing/drawing surface. Dry-erase is great because you...

    New to D&D (starting group)

Won't hurt a thing to leave out deities. They were originally intended to add a layer of "unattainable" challenge (though I've seen them challenged by a few parties), add obstacles, and/or add help to a party. Just keep in mind the "paper gods" aren't even as powerful on paper as the real one...

    New to D&D (starting group)

When you are sure you are in it for the long run, I would highly recommend Tact-Tiles (www.bc-products.net) for your battle board. They're dry-erase stiff tiles (each tile is 10"x10") with a 1" square grid. I've had my set for a few months and they work great. You don't even need miniatures...

Does anyone put out battlemaps or terrain markers for 3e?

It's basically a reclosable thick cardboard box with good plastic handle and a marker. The box has an extra space on the side to hold lots of markers. The cardboard is the heavy stuff that shouldn't tear up for a while. No frills, but it does a good job for $4.00. All the sets come with...

    Blink and Blur

Yeah, I'm using 3.0 Edition and ghost touch is for incorporeal (not ethereal). However in 3E the description for Ethereal Jaunt and Blink have the exact same "Note:" description which includes the reference I showed for incorporeal. I guess that's where I got the idea that ghost touch could...

    Blink and Blur

As a side question, what is capable of striking a ethereal creature in 3rd Ed? I know Ghost Touch, and force based weapons and magic can. However, for the description of blink and ethereal jaunt, it says an ethereal creature is incorporeal, which means you can hit it with a +1 or better...

Dwarf Wizard, how to play him?

Well, I guess he is fun to talk to. Not only does he have a great intelligent and a good wisdom, he can cast nice area of effect spells and targeted spells, as well as nice offensive and defensive melee based spells for use in melee, if extra melee skills are needed in a battle. A very...
