Both Class Roles and Power sources are from 4e, and were much better implemented, for the record. The design of them for D&Done is laughably shallow. But crappy implementations of great 4e design is kind of o5e's entire MO. I'd definitely suggest checking it out.

Thri-kreen has always been one of my faves from D&D, and from Pathfinder I really love their take on Androids though definitely less iconic

In general a lot of those 'Class specific' Spells just aren't spells anymore because Level Up has systems for cool stuff that aren't just making them spells

When there's a system with as severe balance problems as 5e and something fixes it like a5e does, there is foundationally no way to make meaningful changes without making the old underpowered Classes overshadowed by their fixed versions...
