D&D 5E Ebay: Ghosts of Dragonspear

I think its this false entitlement mentality that everything a company sells should be made as widely available for an expected cost. On one hand companies love these sort of behaviors because they're fostered by customers that will buy almost anything the company puts out. On the other hand...

D&D 5E What about warlocks and sorcerers?

I feel like people are still looking at these playtests as a continually building evolution, they're not. They're snap shots of select mechanics, the final game is likely to be a mix of mechanics that garnered the most positive feedback across all of the packets. There's no reason that Warlock...

D&D 5E Ebay: Ghosts of Dragonspear

If you don't want to pay 90-150$ for it then don't. But someone might be willing, and there's nothing wrong with that. Its not a crucial piece of the game material, its just one adventure. WOTC can give away whatever they want to at their cons. Some of you people have an entitlement problem...

    D&D 5E L&L 8/19/13: The Final Countdown

Some of you guys take Mike's posts a little too far. This isn't a conspiracy... its just a roleplaying game.

If everyone at the table is having fun, there is no 'wrong'.

    D&D 5E 07/29/2013 - Legends & Lore It’s Mathemagical!

That's why its called a play-test... Its a nice system that gets more complicated as it goes on. At first you've only got your level one spells going into level one slots, next you've got a bit more flexibility... and even more as you go on. I don't think its unreasonable... just a new way of...

    D&D 5E 07/29/2013 - Legends & Lore It’s Mathemagical!

    1) Bounded accuracy my friend. This is all covered, although it will depend a lot on what the DM decides to throw at you. 2) While I can't say this for sure... that seems like a likely direction. Not all spells require a saving throw either, usually just the offensive ones.

    D&D 5E 07/29/2013 - Legends & Lore It’s Mathemagical!

I didn't realize this is what they were doing. This is pretty awesome actually, its a pretty elegant fix, does it sounds like damage is going to scale like this as well? Complex but nicely presented and powerful/flexible system. The one thing I'm worried about is teaching this system to...

Legends & Lore: Roleplaying in D&D Next

Glad DND is finally moving into the 21st century, this , if implemented right, should be really a great addition to the system. There are definitely groups of people that will try and abuse this mechanic (much like everything else in the system), but luckily, I don't role play with any of...

    D&D 5E 18/7/2013 D&D Next Q&A: Feat Progression, Bonus Feats & Requirements

I think its better to look at the metagame goal of system, instead of getting fiddly about system mechanics . The system is changing, but its goal is the same-- to create a mechanical manifestation of your character's abilities within the game's math. "I hit the orc really hard!" (the rp) << i...

D&D 5E 5e should include roleplaying incentives as a module.

There are logistical problems with making "perfect" products. Getting both quality and quantity is a goal I'm sure, but the reality of working for a company you've got deadlines and budgets.

Legends & Lore: A Bit More on Feats

I think this direction sounds great. If anyone's done any game design you know the math is going to be off before a lot of play testing gets done, so the actual numbers are really meaningless right now, but it sounds like a lot of fun to play. Lower starting stats sounds like a great...
