D&D 5E Casters should go back to being interruptable like they used to be.

Or look at dragons, in 1E the mighty red dragon capped out at 88 hp!

D&D 5E Casters should go back to being interruptable like they used to be.

Slightly trimmed but casting in 1E was explicitly interruptible. Typically via initiative -- you declare spells before it is rolled and if the other side wins they can hit you to ruin the spell. The 3E version was actually a mild caster buff in my experience.

OD&D Editon Experience: Did/Do you Play B/X? How Was/Is It?

I really liked it as a youngster and it played quite differently than more modern editions. I found it rather faster moving and much more suited to a teenager's mind than today's tomes. I definitely have fond memories and maybe would go back, one day, when we are not all in isolation.

Game Distributors Closing Down; RPG Publishers Affected

Oh, to be clear, I am trying to explain the behavior not to justify it. Many people do things under pressure that don't show them at their best. But I think that is the most likely scenario for why the bills stopped being paid so fast. I hope freelancers remember your better behavior when the...

Game Distributors Closing Down; RPG Publishers Affected

I think you are absolutely correct. If they don't have any cash on hand right now than I presume they are already dead after a month or two without revenue, unless the government provides an awesome bailout.

Game Distributors Closing Down; RPG Publishers Affected

I wonder how much of this is delaying bills to try and hold cash in reserve to survive the multiple month freeze of non-essential retail. If it works out, maybe some of this outstanding debt will be worked out quickly?

Game Distributors Closing Down; RPG Publishers Affected

I suspect it will depend a fair bit on the local postal rules and any adaptions that are made to them as time passes. In Canada they are talking about July as optimistic, and I suspect we'll see a lot of innovation if it continues to December in how businesses operate.

Pathfinder 2: Fighters, Skills, & Counterspells

Exactly. Otherwise counterspell being all or nothing makes it terribly vulnerable to being a boring mechanic.

Nerfing Holy Weapon for Xanathar's Guide

Not sure the occasional spell that allows the Paladin to support the party is all bad. This is even more true if it is a cleric.

Pathfinder 2: Fighters, Skills, & Counterspells

There is a very fine line with counterspell between making it too effective and useless. If a random guessing game is required to counterspell then it will just be used a lot less often. What I think makes things the most interesting is a way to make countering magic both worthwhile and fun...

D&D 5E Why is level 5-10 the "sweet spot" in D&D

Some of the sub-stories are so much like "party dynamics" that I suspect the Bridgeburners were actually PCs in somebodies game at some point. No other reasonable way to explain the gyrations to free them from military discipline to go forth and have epic adventures.

D&D comes to Middle Earth (from Cubicle 7)

I agree. I am quite looking forward to the Lord of the Rings interpretation of D&D. The Fourth Age is a very interesting place for adventures, while still having a lot of the features of the movies. The loss of ringwraiths is the biggest loss, but there may be other creatures of similar...

D&D 5E [+] What are your favorite things about 5e?

I think that this is true. But it encourages it much less than 3rd edition, which probably pushed things too far in one direction. I like it when people can enjoyably multi-class. This is fun. What I disliked in some editions was making multi-classing so much better than a straight class...
