You said it!
My pal had the gray box and we thought it was cool! It seemed wild and untamed…over time it filled in a bit too much with heroes.
Granted, you can just take pieces…but it’s a little crowded for me.
Though I may have to steal Thay snd customize it for my world. So many cool...
It’s cool to be like “whatever” but let’s face it: the fact that we are discussing it says something. WOTC intended something. It was not casual or accidental.
The only people who care much about that picture are surely long term fans. Was this change for them?
I guess I don’t get the purpose.
I am pretty down with the ol G.
5e is pretty good for me. Had some fun with 3e as well. Have no illusions about high drama Oscar worthy improvisation.
We want to chuck dice and crunch a few numbers…we know it’s a game we gathered for. Its best if it’s not so much that it pulls the mind...
At what point do you stop loudly complaining about edition B while unfavorably comparing it to A do you just need to go play A?
For your sanity…?
So much gnashing of teeth…just pick your flavor maybe?
I had a cat that always came when called and sought me out over his nearly two decades.
He was easily as smart as some dogs. What a great friend! I trained him to do some Crazy things…
Maybe it was just my oxytocin and not his but in my gut I believe we were friends

My group is full of parents with kids and professional jobs. We have to share. It’s only fair.
The spouse part is...
That is too much. That has stopped being a hobby and has become a job.
Delegate some things if you can. Prioritize and shed some tasks.
Take a break. Don’t be self punitive.
I am the opposite—-I cannot get it together to run enough…
I have a theory about the game and DM enjoyment. Well when it’s my turn anyway.
I want to know the parts and systems but I like not knowing everything. I have a patron and a world shaped by a cataclysm.
I don’t actually know all the “whys” and it keeps me interested in my own creation.
As...
The game does deliver that way at times.
I had a group of hobgoblin mercenaries led by a “Commander Krag” and the next thing I know a few PCs are talking to him about honor and duty and…he became a well liked partner.
Did not see that coming…thought he was a little detail and then they wanted...
I want to think about this more.
I don’t see a ton of wizard abuse in my group but also don’t see all of those spells in play much.
I am not too worried about armor. Except for extreme cases it seems higher level monsters can hit people in armor.
Man. It’s really about the group and preferences.
We do roleplay and say some things with some character style but often it’s “Slag asks the bartender where there is an armorer in town.”
If we had to argue over every copper while buying provisions…I would tear my eyes out. I think we...
