Thanks, Rooneg. This basically what I'm doing now. Since updating my tablet, battery life is no longer an issue, so I would like to move away from paper tracking completely.

As an update, I sent an email with my original questions to the community AL email address and received the reply below. Hopefully they will add this to the AL FAQ or put it on the dndadventurersleague.org website in the future.
