Raza skittered forward and stabbed Kuo-toa 4, dealing 8 points of damage. When she yanked free her blade, the creature dropped, dead, at Kago's feet.

Brinn lay still on the bare rock of the ledge, oblivious to the world. Blood pooled beneath his back, staining the basalt. It caught in a shallow depression near the lip of the ledge, then spilled over, a thin stream of cerise that stood out starkly in Solace's magical light.

OOC: KT4 is dead. Two successful death saving throws in a row for Brinn. Solace's turn, Kobold Stew

Solace moves towards one of the attacking Koa-toas, and lunges, but the grip on her knife is lacking, and her stab causes her to overextend, on the uncertain ground. She misses badly, and decides to follow her thrust, running by the creature and over the ledge. She falls, and lands by the light she had lit twenty seconds earlier. Nowhere to hide, against a wall, with two frog creatures above her.

OOC:
(So I rolled a fumble and I'm choosing not to spend my inspiration. I'm going to play this out poorly. I'll roll an acrobatics roll in the next post to see if she lands on her feet, or suffers damage or whatever).
(move) to L9
(to hit) [roll0]. If successful, damage = [roll1], plus [roll2]. FUMBLE
(fancy footwork) no opportunity attack to move away
(move continues to K10 (and over) and K11).

With no sound of pursuit by the monitor, Kamael breathed a sigh of relief. He knew he could not abandon the others though, and that his contribution could tip the balance.

He started preparing to cast his newest spell as he moved back until he had an unobstructed line of sight to the monitor (t3?).

With increasing confidence, he drew from the Weave and again released the energy in the form of three flaming trails which streaked towards the kuo-toa, who was clearly silhouetted in cavern entrance with the light behind him. Having done so, Kamael pulled back into cover.

OOC:

Solace lunged at Kuo-toa 3, missed, and let her momentum carry her forward over the ledge and down to the hard-packed floor of the cavern. She moved too fast for her target to parry or get in a lick as she swept past it. Ever nimble, Solace landed on the balls of her feet, unharmed, her back pressed against the wall.

Kamael screwed up his courage and moved forward until he had line of sight on the kuo-toa monitor. All three rays struck true, slamming into the mid-section of the monitor, and dealing 22 points of damage. The monitor promptly burst into flame, squealing in horror. Its skin was quick to crackle and peel. The heat of Kamael's spellcraft turned the monitor's eyes to jelly; the ooze ran from empty sockets right before the creature turned to ash.

Kuo-toa 3 and 6 watched as the monitor was slain, then turned and fled along the ledge and down the stairs. Neither re-appeared. Kuo-tua 2 snapped at Kago once again, but missed when, at the last second, its eyes shifted to the monitor just as its kin died.

OOC: Only Kuo-toa 2 is left. Kuo-toas 3, 6, and 7 ran off, the remainder died. Kago's turn, industrygothica! I'll wait until tomorrow evening to post for Kago in case you're pulling another double shift.

Kago raised his warhammer, bringing the head straight down in an attempt to brain the remaining kuo-toa. The hammer struck Kuo-toa, dealing 22 points of damage. There was a booming crack as the creature's skull splintered, and then a sigh as it withered in a heap at the orc's feet.

OOC: IG's said to go ahead and roll, and damned if it wasn't a critical hit! END OF COMBAT. POST AT WILL.
