D&D 5E Storm King's Thunder

FitzTheRuke

Legend
Aremus calls, as quietly as he can, up the tunnel to Fistan and Bethany "Come back! The Ogre has gone! There's a dwarf out there who's in trouble!" then he says to Carolina "Please, cover me!"

Then he runs to the rocks, attempting to get as much cover as he can from anything in the cavern, while taking up a position next to the Dwarf. "Hey, there friend... Are you from Nightstone?"

OOC: Action Dash. How high are the goblins, again?

Carolina darts from the alcove and rounds the corner back towards the main entrance, pausing only long enough to take a fleeting shot at one of the archers perched on a ledge. She curries off into what looks to be another alcove, hoping it will be a better spot to regroup and provide support.

OOC: Move out of the current corridor, 25 ft. to the east.

Attack with Shortsword vs. Goblin A: 1D20+5 = [7]+5 = 12 (shold be shortBOW, not sword)

Damage, just in case: Shortbow damage: 1D6+3 = [1]+3 = 4

Bonus action to Dash toward the south. By my count that should put Carolina on the top row of that black box in the bottom left corner, third square in from the right.

Carolina: You dart out into the main cavern and fire an arrow into Goblin A's stomach. You then manage to make it around the corner.

Ordrar: You high tail it away from the angered Ogre, who is too busy looking for her great club to attack yet.

Aremus: You bravely run towards the dwarf and face off with an ogre. (Not sure if your action was intended for before Ordrar moved. Let me know if you want to do something else.)

Tranio: The goblins yell and curse as you enter the seemingly empty tunnel.

Fistan: You mutter the spell and rats A,B,C all slump over alseep.

Bethany: You drive your blade through rat F, killing it.

Ogre A:
Lets out a might roar and swings his great club at Aremus, but his aim is awful.
Ogre A Attack: 1D20+6 = [5]+6 = 11

Goblin A: Panics when he see where Carolina is heading. He follows, without even removing the arrow, and swings his scimitar. The blade misses.
_: 1D20+4 = [4]+4 = 8

Goblin C: Fires an arrow at Ordrar, but it misses the mark by a mile.
Goblin C Attack: 1D20+4 = [1]+4 = 5

Goblin D: Barks at the female ogre, ordering her to block the path Tranio just went down.

Goblin E: Fires an arrow at Aremus, conencting with his shoulder for 5 damage.
Goblin E Shot: 1D20+4 = [19]+4 = 23

Ogre B: Wants nothing more than to crush the dwarf, but is brow beaten into pursuing Tranio instead.

Goblin F: Fires an arrow at Bethany, but it bounces off her armor.
Goblin F Shot: 1D20+4 = [6]+4 = 10

Goblin G: Fires an arrow at Fistan and it pierces into his shoulder for 5 damage.
Goblin G Shot: 1D20+4 = [18]+4 = 22

Goblin H: Darts around the corner, screaming his head off and fires an arrow at the chieftain. It is one of the finest shots any of you have ever seen, but the chieftain survives by yanking (Boss Goblin reaction ability) Goblin G into the way of the shot. The arrow lands square between the bodyguard's eyes, killing him.
Goblin H Shot: 1D20+4 = [20]+4 = 24

Goblin Chieftain: Grabs the girl and flees deeper into the cavern.

Giant Rat D: The rapid pet bites into Bethany's shield arm for 4 damage.
Rat D Bite: 1D20+4 = [14]+4 = 18
1D20+4 = [4]+4 = 8

Giant Rat E: The large vermin bites into Fistan's ankle for 4 damage.
Rat D Bite: 1D20+4 = [14]+4 = 18
1D20+4 = [19]+4 = 23

Giant Rat G: This rat bites into the arm of the treacherous goblin for 4 damage.
Rat G Bite: 1D20+4 = [15]+4 = 19
1D20+4 = [2]+4 = 6

Morning
Round 1

Dren remained at the cave entrance with Tranio as the others went around to the back stream entrance.

The others rushed in and the battle began. Dren rushed to the ledge on the right where the goblin archer was aiming down at them.

[sblock=Actions]
Move: Try to move up onto the ledge to Goblin C.
Athletics: 1D20+4 = [5]+4 = 9
I assume that Athletics check fails. If it is a success, I will spend 1 ki to use Step of the Wind to make it up onto the ledge and attack the goblin. If it’s a fail, I will make a ranged attack from below.
Action: If I can get next to the goblin, attacking with handaxe.
Handaxe attack and damage: 1D20+4 = [8]+4 = 12
1D6+2 = [1]+2 = 3

If the Athletics check failed and I can’t get up on the ledge, attack with a dart.
Dart attack and damage: 1D20+4 = [19]+4 = 23
1D4+2 = [2]+2 = 4

Bonus Action: Possibly Step of the Wind if the Athletics check is successful

Fistan, Wizard 3

OOC: I hadn't meant to run into melee, just far enough to cast the spell, or is that because of the poor lighting that I had to get that close?

Fistan's arcane protection crumbles under the attacks but he is unhurt. "Sibro Suemmalf", he chants, summoning some of the most powerful magic he has ever used. Light flares in the little chamber as a ball of flame appears behind Fistan. With a gesture he hurls it at one of the sleeping rats (rat B), the searing heat nearly kills it before it wakes up. Fistan's ball of fire hovers above the rat illuminating the chamber and it's occupants.

[SBLOCK=Actions and Rolls]
Flaming Sphere damage: 2D6 = [3, 3] = 6
That's possibly the worst possible roll :( leaving them with 1 HP
Rat B , being asleep, automatically fails it's DEX save. Anything standing within 5ft of the sphere next turn take 2d6 damage, DEX save for half.

Move: None
Action: Cast Flaming Sphere
Bonus Action: Move Sphere
Reaction: Cast Shield if required to avoid a hit.
Special: Use a luck dice to force a re-roll if Fistan is hit and shield won't block it (anything 20 or higher).
Rillix will help Bethany.

Tranio stays just out of reach of the Ogre grabbing at him with his big meaty fists. He is an easy target, wedged in at the crevasse opening.

OOC: To hit: [roll0] (if advantage, the better of that and [roll1]. If a hit, damage = [roll2].

I don't think there's a second opponent within 5', but if there is, he'll get a second Chill Touch beam against it.

Chill touch: 1d20+5, 1d8 (x2)

FitzTheRuke

Legend
Skirting around the edge of the mud, Aremus lunges with his long thin blade at the Ogre. "Come on, Dwarf! Let us dispatch this brute together!" His blade flashes in gloom as if it has a light of its own.

OOC: [roll0] for [roll1] damage and a smite for [roll2] radiant.
