D&D 5E Andre the Giant, a Goliath among men?

For those of you familiar with Andre the Giant, would you say he was about the appropriate size to be considered a Goliath?

At the peak of his height, he was 7'4" and weighing in the 300lb range.

But, due to his "giantism" Andre kept growing in size. He probably would of been taller if his frame could take all of his weight, but due to his growth the cartilage in his spine and his knees compressed, making him estimated around 6'10" around the time of his death.

The peak of his weight was around 540lbs, and was said to be around 520 around the time of his death.

Andre was a farmer for most of his young life, helping his family with farming all of his young days while growing up.

His feats included lifting the car up for the family so they could change a tire, holding the tractor up while they switch pieces in and out, and even flipping a small car over with 4 men inside.

Andre's appetite and drinking were stuff of legend. He said said to be able to drink well around 150+ beers at a time.

People who ate at dinner with Andre would speak how he would drink 6 bottles of wine, eat several lobsters, and a steak, then go wrestle a match.

Andre the Giant was not a man, he was a Goliath among men!

If you are unfamiliar with Andre the Giant, watch the video below to see the size of this man.

P.S.
What would you put Andre's stats at?

Andre stats have often being over exaggerated. For example they had him stand on books in interviews. He was probably in the 16 to 18 strength score range.

Size
Goliaths are between 7 and 8 feet tall and weigh between 280 and 340 pounds. Your size is Medium.

So yes, provided that Andre was over 7ft, he fits the description. Feel free to apply the archetype :)

Be well

He's definitely in the top .5% for Strength. I mean, if you get 216 random adults together, he's probably the strongest one there. That gives him a starting 18 (which I guess goes to 19 from the racial bonus).

D&D doesn't really differentiate between toughness and stamina, though. He would have a starting 19 in Con, as well, due to his tolerance for injury and alcohol; but there's no way he could run a mile without getting tired.

Off the top of my head, I'd go with something like 20/13/20/10/13/15.

Though he wasn't the most eloquent in speech, he often sold out stadiums. His and Hulk Hogan's Wrestlemania match set a record at 93,000+ people.

Younger Andre would probably be a 13 or so in Dex, but older Andre I feel would be an 8 in Dex.

8 would be generous. Late 80s he had massive health problems. In ring they basically hid it.

He is in the size range for a Goliath though.

He was also smarter than he sounded, so he should have a bit higher Int and a bit lower Cha.

And seeing Hulk Hogan being able to fully list Andre and body slam him was amazing. Those steroids Hulk was using at the time definitely boosted his Str.

The stories of Andre the Giant’s drinking and tolerance are pretty legendary. Well worth reading about if you have the time:

I’d keep his Charisma fairly high. The old-school wrestlers might not have had the technical skills and outrageous musculature of today, but they could work the crowd like nothing else. They really knew how to sell their limited set of moves.
