Dren saw the pig coming at him. He threw his arm up and ducked, deflecting the porcine projectile. As it passed, Dren grabbed the pig’s leg and altered its momentum, throwing it right back at the ettin, though the pig just squealed as it splashed into the stream well away from the giant on the bridge.


Then Dren drew his bow again, knocking to arrows and firing once more at the giant, though both shots went wide.


“Damn pig pissed on me!” Dren muttered, wiping his hand clean.

Observing that the heroes weapons are much more accurate than his swine, the ettin would attempt to escape to safety. The two headed monster would flee, initially in the direction of the group, and start climbing up the hill. No doubt, the enemy is heading back towards the full camp you witnessed outside. There is still time to attempt to drop them before they reach their allies.

OOC: Aremus will run forward and cast Compelled Duel (dc14 Wis Save) with his bonus action. If he can get within 30' of the Ettin in a single move, he'll use his action to shoot, otherwise he'll Dash to get close enough for Compelled Duel.

Compelled Duel - Concentration, Bonus Action - A creature you can see within 30 feet must make a Wis Save. On a fail, for 1 minute, the creature has disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures other than you, and must pass another Wis Save to move to a space more than 30 feet away from you. The spell ends if you attack any other creature, or cast a spell that targets a hostile creature other than the target, if a creature friendly to you damages the target or casts a harmful spell on it, or if you end your turn more than 30 feet away from the target. Hearing Aremus' challenge, Tranio knows enough not to interfere. His companion is assuming this undertaking, and he rushes forward, hesitating momentatily to see if the Ettin will respond.

OOC: Move 30' closer to the Ettin, wanting to prevent his escape.
I don't think he can Ready one of two actions depending on the outcome of the save, so
(a) if the Ettin does stop and turn, then Tranio advances another 30' (wanting to block him/them off if possible.
(b) if the Ettin does not stop and turn (makes the save, assuming it's fair for Tranio to make this sort of inference) then Tranio will attack:

Admire my restraint in not asking for two blasts at the two-headed creature.

“Oh, bloody balls!” Dren muttered as the ettin tried to make a run for it. The dwarven monk raced to the low wall and leaped across the gap to the other ledge, his short legs pumping hard as he raced to cut the giant off, tapping his ki to race around the creature.
