Bartholomew will yell out:

Hit one of the downed ones with fire or acid (I'd suggest fire; eating those fiends may have made the trolls immune to acid, who knows!)

Do not go for any of the standing ones anymore All that will do is make them ignore a hypnotic pattern, then jump up on their turn and we have to deal with it again!

Alvin watches the flying horrors fall to the ground, get up, and slash at him with their foul claws. He feels the wounds inside his belly, and fears the filth beneath their claws, which now works its way inside him. Up close, their trollish nature is clear.

He knows his tinderbox is in his backpack, but he has nothing to burn but a single candle -- not nearly enough to ensure these creatures stay down. "I have nought to burn them with, my friends; no fire or acid among my spells or on my person. Forgive me."

With a single step to the west, he finds himself again against a pair of trolls, two trolls grasping after the retreating fighter. Three are standing in a row, and he works his way alongh the line, hoping to bring them down with his scimitar.

OOC: (131-41 damage = 90/115 hit points)
Move 5' west.
Attack:
strike 1: 1d20+11=26 for 1d6+8=10 magical slashing damage, plus 1d8=7 radiant damage.
strike 2: 1d20+11= 25 for 1d6+8=11 magical slashing damage

Bonus: (scimitar):
strike 3: 1d20+11= 25 for 1d6+8=11 magical slashing damage.

If with these attacks the first (sothernmost in the North-South line of three) should happen to go down, Cleric will then will then head north to get out of the way and perhaps to draw the attention of the one currently quaking in fear. Otherwise, he'll pivot so he is immediately south of the Bard.

(still have 1d12 bardic inspiration)

As Alvin moves south of him Bartholomew will yell out "keep moving! 10 more feet to the west, if you can."

Note: that all put you out of the blast radius of what's about to happen.

You attack the southernmost Troll three times (hitting all three times) and then finish your move to the direct South of the Bard and inside the southern Trolls reach still.

No AoO as you never leave the Southern Trolls space, and the other two have no reactions left.

If I've read the last few posts correctly, I have no reason to disengage because all the trolls within 5 feet of me have been dropped.

I can't pour oil on them unless I drop one of my weapons, because my hands are full.

Running my normal move to the west would only take me to the square that is (on the map) occupied by the troll east of the bard, because of the difficult terrain. So I'll use my action to dash further west, avoiding Opportunity Attacks.

Object interaction: Sheathe shortsword. Then I can be ready to throw oil on the next turn.

Bonus action: Hide, preferably in foliage. Both rolls are 19 + 10 = 29.

Dashing with the Mobile feat gives you 90' of movement and you ignore difficult terrain when you do, so you can easily make it around the Trolls, and to your hiding spot west of the party, where you clamber down behind a rotten log and hide.

Sorceress - you're up. There are now no PCs east of the Bard and Cleric.

I'm going to fly 30ft higher then cast Firebolt on the troll between the fighter and the bard.

Firebolt to-hit: [15] [20] + 12 = 32 (Nat20!)

I'll empower it since its a good hit.

Damage: [6]+[7]+[4]+[5]+[2] + [2] + [1]+[2]+[6]= 27 Fire Damage

"Does anyone smell burnt chicken? I can't tell from this high up."

Ok. Done. I'm pretty sure the other PCs cleared out of the east side of the map so you can toss down a fireball from your staff, but cool.

Bard. It's you next.
