That's news to me. Where can you filter character options for a campaign? That's a very useful (and requested) feature.
It’s the first thing on the character sheet. Are we talking about the same thing?

There’s also the filtering in the sense of which books I choose to buy and make available.

It's not particularly granular and you do have to do it on a PC by PC basis, but if I own the campaign I can edit every PC in the campaign. Limiting the options is on the "home" page of the PC edit. Or am I misinterpreting the question?

EDIT: been a while since I set up a new campaign ... see next post.

Ah, OK. No, we are not talking about the same thing. People would like to have much finer controls. For example, I don't normally use the stuff from Aquisition Incorporated, but I had to check manually, because the spells are all available for the characters.

Players can buy books too and, also, one might want to use some options in a game and not in another one.

D'oh! When creating a campaign there's a "CONTENT MANAGEMENT" page. Just turn "Shared" off. I forgot about that because I pretty much let people use whatever I purchase.

That just prevents other participants from reading the books that you don't share. All the options are available.

If that's true (I haven't looked) then it's as simple as editing the PC and checking the limits on the "Home".

I really don't see why restricting content is an issue, there has always been 3PP content out there. It's just easier to verify now than it was before we could do it systematically.

One thing, I do not believe that WoTC can make D&D a 100M+ brand from the tabletop rpg. Not even D&DBeyond, not even with microtransactions.
the tabletop RPG already makes 100 million a year. @Alphastream did the math that last quarter the game was up 1% last quarter, when there were zero new products released.
And the rest of the brand will get it ~500 mill in 2023.

It's very easy to forget how powerful D&D is in Hasbro now, even with getting a tiny portion of BG3 money. It's not a top 2 brand (That's Transformers and Magic), but it seems to be on par with Pepa, Monopoly

My world only has 9 playable races. It would be wonderful if DnD Beyond allowed me to set the playable races for a campaign. Maybe I don't like a certain class -- toggle it off (like not everyone should be required to allow Artificer). What if Spelljammer Backgrounds don't make sense? Currently they're allowed if you allow D&D content.
