    OSR Let's make Shadowdark classes!

In retrospect, after seeing comments about it in Facebook groups, I think it may have too many spells. It has less than a Wizard, but it may still be too powerful in comparison. Before I put it in an e-book, I think it needs more work.

    Chinese Geomancers?

I found my copy of Mystic China. It has a lot of good content. I want some other good sources, preferably things that are D&D compatible and not overly complex.

    Chinese Geomancers?

That sounds interesting. How do the sites work?

    Chinese Geomancers?

I think I have that somewhere, I need to dig through my library. It would be surprising to me no one has done something similar for D&D...

    Chinese Geomancers?

The geomantic art of feng shui is an important component of Chinese culture, has anyone developed rules for it in D&D or other RPGs? Is there a fang shih class?

    OSR Let's make Shadowdark classes!

Hit points are scarce in this game, I originally had it do more. But I did not think it should do as much as a great sword.

    OSR Let's make Shadowdark classes!

I have been really cranking out content for Shadowdark on my blog for the last several weeks. This is the class oriented content I have posted so far. I have also created a large and growing pile of monsters for the game. Be warned, none of this has been tested in play as of yet. My Runecaster...

D&D 5E Wall of Force options

So, if you made a version you could launch spells through from one direction, so you could fire out of a dome covering you, what level would it have to be maintain balance? 6? 7? 8?

D&D 5E Wall of Force options

It seems like instead of a defense for the caster the Wall of Force is more like a prison that protects the BBEG from the wizard in the party. What good is it?

D&D 5E Wall of Force options

Do you need to teleport out of the dome? Bamf 5 feet away inside of it.

D&D 5E Wall of Force options

I would imagine you can summon things and have them appear outside the dome, no? Conjure Minor Elementals says things appear anywhere you can see within range.

D&D 5E Wall of Force options

Okay, a Wizard casts Wall of Force to defend himself from attack, creating a dome over his location. What spells from the published materials can he use against an enemy located outside of the dome? I just need a solid list of standard options.

An Elf By Any Other Name . . .

Dwarves need timber for mine braces and to create charcoal for their smithies. There is a reason Ents did not like them. Also, they are based in part on Vikings, who made frequent use of axes as weapons, and picks have never been really popular as weapons. You do see dwarves using swords and...

    Our Physical Fitness

I could really use a workout partner to help me show up more consistently, if anyone lives in the Portland, Oregon area. I tend to procrastinate and end up not going to the gym often enough. Also, working out alone is just kind of boring.

    Our Physical Fitness

My gym closed in 2019, so I was unprepared and gaining weight already right when Covid began. After getting my booster shot late last year I realized I had gained 15 pounds. So I found a Planet Fitness near me here in Beaverton, Oregon just before Christmas, and I started working out a couple of...
