Chicago EN World Game Day: The Aftermath! :)

Alas! Sorry guys, but due to recent events, it looks like I'm going to have to pull out of this one... I would have loved to seen you all again, gaming the day away in the little paradise of Games Plus, but unfortunately it is not to be. Perhaps next time fate will be kinder.

Chicago EN World Game Day: The Aftermath! :)

Count me in on this gameday! I'll be coming along with Trev, so sign me up for the breakfast. Game 4 "The Duchess' Tea Party" sounds interesting, so please add me to that for the morning, and I'll join the Dark Matter game in the afternoon as well. I miss these days, so I'm looking forward to...

So I'm reading up on the new DnD board game, and, Ugh.

Sounds a lot like HeroQuest if you ask me. Zargon, I think the "DM" was called, was always out to get you, and your characters had to try and defeat his minions and make it to the stairs that lead toward the next level and inevitably the exit out of his dungeons... or to him. I forget which...

    Naming conventions... or something

It's "from" or "of," kinda like how the "d'" part is used in "Joan d'Arc." I'm pretty sure that the "van" in names is used like that also.

    Book to customize the Paladin

If you've got the money, and you have your own setting without an established religion, then definately go with the Book of the Righteous. The specifics on the class has been explained pretty well already, so I thought I'd just throw in my support for BotR. :)

    [Dungeon] Dungeon/Polyhedron Goes Monthly

Sounds good to me! The quality of the magazine has been kept up, and now I'll be seeing the magazine in my mailbox more often? Great! Plus those extra bonuses we subscribers are getting is icing on the cake! Thanks!

Mods - Please close this thread

I'm pretty sure I'll be able to make it out there for this event, and I think I'm going to try a nice chilling CoC game, as well as enjoy a nice, homebrewed adventure. Perhaps a game of D20 Modern would work if the Call of Cthulhu turns out to be a little popular :)... sounds like a good one!

Where's the quickling? Monster book questions.

Well, it sounds like you're going to be using that quickling, and what you should do is add a few levels of monk and boots of springing and striding, and pretty soon that quickling will be breaking the sound barrier. Very quickling :)

I have $500 of gaming material to purchase... what now?

Yes, as Trev (boy? who are you to talk, minor!) has mentioned, I do drool over the Book of the Righteous. I would highly recommend it, especially if you would like a complete religion/pantheon, and the Holy Warrior that the book introduces is a very good class, sort of building off of the...

Fiery Dragon & other Creature Counters- how to store them?

It's not very small, but you could try a plastic box/container/thingie that has the dividers, so you end up with small compartments. That way everything is together and light. Sorting with all the A's together, etc., would be the way to go.

Chicago Gameday - 11/09/02 (now including the Castle Brawl photos link!)

East St. Louis-27 Raiders-12 Looks like I'll be attending Saturday! I'll go ahead and take teh halfling paladin for Trev's game... I just can't resist those paladins, especially if they're in a game with Eric ;). I'm really looking forward to this!

Chicago Gameday - 11/09/02 (now including the Castle Brawl photos link!)

I'm alive... really! Yeah, what Trev said, I have football, and we are doing well this year, so the 9th hits the second week of playoffs. Whether I'll be able to attend depends on whether we 1) win the first game and 2) whether the game will be saturday afternoon or friday night. I really...

How to use "True Names" in roleplaying

A thought on who has True Names.... Perhaps True Names could be linked to souls that are "recycled" through the ages, and everyone has one of these "recycled" souls. Discovering the True Name could then be a process of figuring out which soul the person has and tracing this through history...

Another WOTC Setting Search semifinalist speaks...

Awesome, truly! The setting seems so rich, especially when the part about the villains and conflict in the world came up; I was getting excited thinking of all the possibilities! I surely hope this will end up in print, as it certainly is deserving! Although I had to think, if it were to be put...

Howdy Mark, go ahead and put me down with your second slot. Since I'll not be able to make it up to any of the sessions for a while, I doubt I'm going to be messing up any machinations of yours, eh?

Why I love RPGs (and D&D!)

Oh no! There's that warm tingle usually associated with bursting into fire! .... Oh, hey, it's not painful... it's kinda... nice... good nice... Roleplaying is a wonderful hobby, allowing for much social interaction and healthy creativity.

Chicago Gameday - 11/09/02 (now including the Castle Brawl photos link!)

I'm not sure if I'll be able to attend this one, due to the uncertainty of football playoffs, but go ahead and put me down for breakfast and Trev's game in the first slot. Perhaps at the next game I will run something.... perhaps. Sounds like it's going to be a blast, hope I can make it!
