    Pathfinder 2E Essential PF2ER Elements

Do note that the remaster introduced using Interact as a single action to swap one weapon you're holding for another. But otherwise agreed.

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

Honestly, thisis probably the best way to do it when rolling ability scores. I personally prefer point buy, but shared rolled arrays works. Especially if setting some rules that allow a player to reroll their array if the scores are low.

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

So this isn't you saying that the data I generated is wrong? Of course not, and that wasn't what I said, so I didn't think I needed to reply to that. Here, let me quote myself from the post this was in reply to: It is a fact that the array is slightly below expected values for rolling 4d6k3...

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

Well, it makes literally no sense to me that you think choosing 15 14 13 12 10 8 is overpowered, but rolling 16 12 12 10 9 (an extremely likely result) is not. So you'll have to explain it at least one more time. The only thing I got from you previously was that you didn't understand me when I...

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

None of these counter the fact that the expected result of rolling 4d6k3 (which is the standard for 5e) is slightly better than the array. The exact same points, then, must also apply to rolling 4d6k3.

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

Digging up my book. 3.5 Player's Handbook, p. 7: 3.5 Player's Handbook, p. 8: 3.5 DMG, p. 110: 3.5 DMG, p. 169: So you are correct that in 3.5 it is the elite array, including when applied to the PCs. But it seems clear to me that it is called that because the standard method produces...

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

For shits and giggles, I used the same roller to make 50 sets of scores using 3d6. The averages and means for those sets ended up as: 14,42 (14) 12,82 (13) 11,66 (12) 10,36 (10) 8,76 (9) 6,82 (7) On average, this seems like it'd make for a playable character in 5e, though it definitely...

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

I never said that there were zero rolls lower than 8 or higher than 15, though. In fact, I literally noted that the median value for the highest ability score among the sets of six scores was 16 and the average was 15,78, which requires that some of the highest scores had to be higher than 15...

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

Unrelated to my other points, so making a separate post. I used the die roller that was linked a couple of pages back to roll 50 sets of stats, and the average and (median) for the rolls when arranged highest-to-lowest was: 15,78 (16) 14,02 (14) 12,82 (13) 12 (12) 10,6 (10) 8,24 (8) That...

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

I am saying that the rules don't let you choose the array after rolling, so it's a false equivalency.

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

You are making it sound like the choice is between 18-12-11-10-8-6 and 15-14-13-12-10-8, which would imply the choice is made after you have already rolled. Yes, if you are making a MAD PC and you get to decide to use the array after rolling, the array is a great.

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

I apologize for latching on to a very small part of your post. But 15-14-13-12-10-8 is decidedly not an awesome set of rolls when doing 4d6-drop1, you are likely to get those values of better. And that was the point I was trying to get at when I said it seems your problem is with the rolling...

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

Since point buy is used for all six ability scores at the same time, you should probably factor that in for the costs you calculated. For example, the chance of getting at least one 18 with six rolls of 4d6-drop-1 (if my math is correct) is 9,335%, which is significantly higher than the 1,62%...

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

How is getting the statistically likely result advantaging the PC? I don't see how this argument makes any sense unless your problem is actually with 4d6drop1 instead of the array itself.

    D&D (2024) D&D Update: 2024 Rulebooks & Survey Results

It is the standard array because that is pretty damn close to the average array of rolls you get from rolling 4d6-drop-lowest six times and arranging from highest to lowest, as demonstrated in this article. I guess it could be called the expected array if that changes how you feel about it. If...

Pathfinder 2E Healing issues, and multiclassing in 2e?

I'm coming in a bit late, but I'll add that six compsognathus isn't exactly an easy fight for the party. Based on the encounter-building rules, as creatures of the party's level -2, they're each worth 20 XP, so six of them adds up to 120 XP, making this encounter roughly halfway between moderate...

Blog (A5E) Level Up: All About Prestige

I noticed the table lists different Prestige ratings for gettting an audience than the example favors. For example, level 2 lists "audience with the mayor", but the table has mayor at level 3.

Pathfinder 2 Character Sheet #6: Ezren, Human Wizard

A 9th level cantrip that blocks 12 damage. And the scaling is just a guess, it could be more, it could be less. It is likely that the recharge duration decreases with the automatic heightening as well.

Let's Look At Some Monster Stat Blocks For Pathfinder 2

See, to me that just isn't the case. I started DnD with 3.0, and did play an assortment of characters over the time (still playing an Incarnate/Ironsoul Forgemaster in a campaign that's been stretching on for years, just hit level 20 last week), but as soon as I stop playing a character, I start...
