D&D 5E Couple of threads got me wondering... So what have you already Pre-ordered??

A few threads/polls, have me wondering what has everyone already preordered. I have never been a completest, but I really like the feel for Next/5th Edition. I really like the playtest stuff, Sundering adventures, etc. I have been saving some BaM gift cards for the core books, and went ahead and...

Recruiting: D&D Next PBP Ghosts of Dragonspear Castle

I would like to run a modified version of Ghosts of Dragonspear Castle. I'm willing to play on this site or on oots. Here is a link to that thread. Recruitment will end whenever I have enough players. The setting is a homebrew setting. Nik

So I created a PC race, what do you think?

This is a race I have created for an upcoming D&D Next playtest. Arcannis The arcanni are a race of individuals brand new to Padonthia. They do not have an age old history, there are no ruins of great ages of past. No mighty kingdoms have begun. For the arcanni’ time is not ending; the time of...

Need help designing a one shot low paragon tier adventure!

Last year, me, one of my friends and my girlfriend had a pretty good run playing table top. It was the first time I had played table top in many years. I usually just play PBP because it is much easier to find players and work around schedules. Our table top game stopped when my buddy moved up...

    Someel, home of the Satyrs.

Me and my girlfriend created this village not to long ago. Since the Satyrs were posted, I figured I would share. One day, a satyr was out traveling the Feywild. He was a wanderer, and rarely stayed in one place for long. He came to a lush field of rice that was naturally growing. He wandered...

Help me design a few memorable encounters for 4th level.

*If you are a player at Giant in the Playground and play in the Chaos Scar campaign, turn away!* Okay, here is the deal. I have been running a decently long PBP campaign (9 months!). I was running it in a different part of my very small (as of now) campaign world, running parallel in time with...

The D&D economy, how much gold do my players earn?

My players are each 1/3 owners of a very profitable mining operation. As such, they have built a small settlement that is growing fast, thanks to the players dropping tons of gold into the economy for building walls and such. Does anyone have any formulas they use for taxes, tithes and business...

So I turned one of my PCs into a werescorpion last night....

My PCs were making an overland flight on hippogriffs across a fairly large desert. I think the trek ended up taking 7 days flight, but I wanted them to get the gist of just how bare and lifeless the desert was, so they spent several nights with nothing happening. I normally make them roll for...

    Interesting Desert Side Trek Site

My PCs are fixing to make a 600 mile trek over a desert. They will be flying on hippogriffs, so they will be able to cover a lot of distance. I picture the desert as very much like the Dark Sun CS, and I plan to run a few Dark Sun adventures in the desert as well. So what kind of interesting...

    One shot ideas

I like to have a couple of planned adventures that lend themselves to specific types of characters ready to go. Normally it is a few short encounters, some combat, some rp, some skill challenges. For instance, I planned one for a gnome rogue that had to recover a very valuable flute that...

Can you recommend a good 8th level adventure?

The world is post cataclysmic, so no high fantasy, big city adventures. The characters only know of 7-8 villages, all smaller than a population of 500. I plan on running a modified version of the Scales of War to the west and north with a different set of characters, so maybe an adventure that...

    The Pickled Pigs Feet Festival

Origin: During the siege of Meteor Island, a elven hippogrif rider pirated a ship intent on supplying the humans and orcs of the meteor mines. Voxado, an avenger of Arawai and avid hippogrif rider, sails the ship across Crater Lake to the settlement of Bobcat Hill. He is happy to bring supplies...

I want to create an adventure that can involve flying mounts... help.

I run a one on one post cataclysmic game. The world literally has less than 500 civilized people in the known area. These are mostly elves, some goblins (there is a tribe of civilized goblins), and some dwarves. The player runs two characters and there is one NPC. I have run them through...

    Is D&D Insider worth it?

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but is D&D Insider worth the purchase? I used to subscribe to Dragon and Dungeon Magazines, but that was back when they were in print. I have a hard time not having a printed copy in my hand. I don't make my own adventures usually, so not having Dungeon...

What kind of encounters can I throw at a solo character?

I will be DMing my first solo tabletop game. The character is going to start at level 1, and figure he will reach level 2 very quickly. I plan on giving plenty of roleplaying experience, especially at first so that he can get into some more complex battles if needed. This is also the first time...

Help me flesh out my idea for a campaign world...

Me and a buddy of mine have not played in a table top game in a very long time, mainly PBP in the last few years. We talked it over, and we want to give a 1 on 1 table top game a go. If we enjoy it, we will add more players that can work around our schedule. I will be the DM. Here is the kicker...

Recruiting for Scepter Tower of Spellgard PBP

The New World Follow the link. The game will be on those boards because it seems to cluttered here. The ads on the forums will be gone once play starts up.

    Post your homebrew sites.

I've been browsing through several homebrew sites lately, and I love reading what others have come up with, weather it be PoL cities, large nations, continents, new races, religions, etc. So everyone post their homebrew site for everyone to look at. Here is mine: New World Everyone post...

How do I move 4 islands set on turtle shells?

I'm coming up with a way for a city of gnomes who have interlocked 4 giant turtle shells (think oval shaped but about 3 square miles each) and turned them into a nomadic city. How can I get it to move? I'd like a spell that could be controlled from a tower point that utilizes a touch sensor orb.

    Minotaurs lifespan...

I have searched all over and I can't find a single stable answer to this question. I have found everything from 40 years to 240 years... anyone know what the standard DnD lifespan of minotaurs is?
