Arcanis: Gonnes, Sons, and Treasure Runs (COMPLETED)

GREAT story hour!! I've spent the last few weeks reading from the beginning. You've quite a group and Arcanis is an incredible setting. I wish I had been exposed earlier. Thanks again for posting.

Feat and further build suggestion for 9th level cleric

(Edit: just notice Contemplative requires Knowledge: religion - 13 ranks. Does your DM allow you to assign skill points from the PrC to bring skills up to requirements? Or do you have to satisfy every requirement prior to entering the PrC) One neat way to up your turning capability is to...

D&D 5E Help me design my next campaign - Low magic world

One option to no healing magic is a herbalism skill. That could even be the manifestation of Druidic knowledge rather than divine magic. Back in AD&D we used this article as no one wanted to play the cleric. (Well, I cannot figure out how to attach it but it was called Wounds & Weeds...

The Ultimate d20 Gamma World Thread

I've just started a GW campaign as well. All of the people I play with are only familiar with D&D (2nd ed & 3.5, young'uns all of them ;)). One player is a mutated bear, we used the brown bear stats out of the 3.5 Monster Manual and I required him to take Heightened Intelligence. That solved...

    D&D 1E Favorite 1E House Rule?

One 3.x rule I would incorporate is the Cleric's ability to spontaneously cast cure spells. Way back one DM had something like that as every new player to the group had to play a cleric (since people would get sick of being the walking hospital and drop out of the group). The cleric could burn...

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

Words fail me, LB. I have been speechless since Varo came back. My all time favorite and an epic battle at the end. Bravo.

The Complete Masks of Nyarlathotep d20

Very, very cool. Just wanted to chime in on how good this storyhour is. Please keep up the great work.

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

Ok, so it would be the way I would want to meet the end of the world. ;)

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

No, they'll be fully prepared. You have to meet the end of the world on your feet, with steel in hand, and howling your defiance to the gods.

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

And that attitude is why he was my favorite character from the beginning. Bravo, Lazybones. Fantastic story.

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

I remember using a variant like that myself, falls should be dangerous no matter the PC level. That had me choking on my lager! :p

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

Absolutely wonderful! Almost Varo-esque. Of course Varo wouldn't apologize. :] Alderis is rapidly becoming my second favorite. :D Thanks again for this SH Lazybones.

E6: The Game Inside D&D (with PDFs!)

Actually there is a feat from Dragon Magazine #325 p62, Easy Metamagic. "Choose a Metamagic feat you know with at least a +2 Level Adjustment. When preparing or casting spells with this feat, treat the Level Adjustment as being one lower than it actually is (min +1). For example, Easy Metamagic...

The Doomed Bastards: Reckoning (story complete)

I heartily concur, all your posts are very well written but I love the insight into the characters, especially Varo (my favorite btw, I've modeled a current character on him :o ). Now as long as the movie depicts what I see in my head. :D

    Halfling outrider

Ranger with spear and shield and improved shield bash for the TWF path would be really cinematic!

    E6: The Game Inside D&D

I think the system has a built in check. To get these saves the character has to make a trade off which results in lower spell progression, BAB, and fewer class abilities. Not worth it in my opinion as I can just have my cleric take feats that bump my reflex save while having full caster...

    E6: The Game Inside D&D

My inclination is only to allow characters who have all 6 of their levels in their favored class. Multiclassing has it's own benefits and I think a reward for someone who stays with the favored class would be warranted. This may be type casting but there is a reason why dwarves are such...

    E6: The Game Inside D&D

You're welcome wolfpunk! One of our group pointed out this shortcoming as well and I thought it could be countered with pre-req feats rather then a caster level requirement. Maybe craft:rods require craft:wands and craft:staves would require both wands and rods. Craft:Ring would require the...
