Planescape Planescape IS D&D Says Jeremy Crawford

Errr... So you played only Greyhawk during 3.x because it was the "default" setting of DnD ? Or only Nentir Vale during 4e era ?I guess not. AD&D 2e didn't have a default setting baked into the CRBs, classes were written as neutral as they could be regarding settings and it never was a problem...

    D&D 5E The Printers Can't Handle WotC's One D&D Print Runs!

Prices have risen across the RPG industry but the production value has also taken a huge step up from the early 2000s. The more recent issue is (for some of us anyway) that the inflation has run faster than the household income. I can certainly bear a price increase on gaming products like RPG...

    D&D 5E The Printers Can't Handle WotC's One D&D Print Runs!

The issue with the price increase is that it is not consistent on the whole ttrpg and/or boardgame market. Only a handful of companies, WotC included, have had a major raise of price. Can I pay for that price increase ? Maybe. But I may also wonder why other smaller companies have not increased...

    D&D 5E The Printers Can't Handle WotC's One D&D Print Runs!

Well... Depends on who you will talk to. We tried playing through a VTT for a couple of years but our different groups vastly prefer playing in person. If WotC pushes a digital only experience we'll not play that version. But I don't think they'll drop the printed products for now Btw I think...

    D&D 5E The Printers Can't Handle WotC's One D&D Print Runs!

I like the simplicity of 5e, even if it lack some aspect I liked in 4e and 3e and would have liked seen kept in that new iteration. Mostly my issue is with the way content is delivered with the focus on AP rather than developing settings (or at least -a- setting). I like my background books...

    D&D 5E The Printers Can't Handle WotC's One D&D Print Runs!

Yeah, Fan production is at a all time high. And quality is sometime even better than WotC own products. But it's not official releases. If they want to release something be it crunch or lore, that invalidates some fan-produced content, it is their right to do so. We are blessed with all the toys...

    D&D 5E The Printers Can't Handle WotC's One D&D Print Runs!

Look, unless I'm mistaken we're all entitled our opinion ;) As far as I'm concerned I've bought a lot of WotC products including -recent- products. Call me a boomer if you will but I'm not the target audience for the current market of WotC products. I'm genuinely curious about their 5e refresh...

    D&D 5E The Printers Can't Handle WotC's One D&D Print Runs!

I'm not concerned about staggered release, I'm concerned about book-to-book incoherent content. Because the MM book will take 6-9 month more time to be released and will see it's content change evolve, making the first in the line, the PHB, need to be corrected to stay consistent. But to be...

OGL: What Are The Publishers Saying [UPDATED]

Third party publisher with printed products may want to leave the 5e market; it's already happening with Kobold Press and Troll Lord Games. What I'm more curious about is what will happen to the thousand of the PDF-only/PoD products in the DM's Guild.

Worlds of Design: Golden Rules for RPGs

I'd say nay with the rule number two in some aspects. I love to surprise my players with abilities and spells that my NPCs are the only one to have access to. It helps deconstructing the habits some players have of applying their knowledge of the game to their characters.

(Rumor) Disney Stars Wars Could Be Removed from Canon (or simply ignored)

Anakin's story has already been expanded greatly through the Clone Wars tv series. Heck you could even roll in Rebels with its Darth Vader arcs. Luke and Leia could still be part of a "cinematic" universe through the same sort of initiative; TV Series, comics and novels can fill that gap...

(Rumor) Disney Stars Wars Could Be Removed from Canon (or simply ignored)

Well, what they can do is phase out the importance of the events of the new trilogy and re-focus themselves on other events in the SW universe. That shouldn't be a problem for them since none of the "new generation" is interested in returning for an encore. They can just make a nice time jump...

Release Monte Cook’s Numenera setting comes to 5e with Beneath the Monolith

The main difference between the current situation and what happened back in the early 2000's is that there won't be shelf space occupied by lesser quality products. Now everything is handled via PDF and/or kickstarter orders. But I do agree with you with products being converted from a...

D&D 5E Gun Mages & Warjacks: Iron Kingdoms Coming to 5E

I really like the original Witchfire trilogy as it was somewhat fresh. It had that Warhammer Fantasy vibes with a "modern" take. But then they released the WM MkI and I found that the setting became too much focused on military conflicts and not enough on the rest. Also the RPG content, either...

    D&D 5E WotC's Jeremy Crawford Talks D&D Alignment Changes

Unless the way the creatures society and habits are changed to include more variety, just changing the alignment will amount to nothing except to create some 'odd duck' situation much like what happened with Drizzt so many years ago.

    D&D 5E WotC's Jeremy Crawford Talks D&D Alignment Changes

I've adopted and adapted D20 Modern Allegiance system and a simplified version of Pendragon virtue/vice system in many RPG. They have no tied in game mechanic, they are just here to help keep a character behavior consistent between sessions. And just to be clear, these aren't set in stone and...

Warhammer 40K Wrath & Glory Now To Be Produced By... Cubicle 7!

As far as I'm concerned I'm pretty happy with the Torg Eternity and The Dark Eye products I got out of the Kickstarters from Ulisses Spiele NA. I'm pretty happy too with C7 products like Lone Wolf and Warhammer 4. So let's look forward to the future, drop the unnecessary hatred and wish for both...
