Personally, I think that HERO is counter-intuitive, slow, and there is too much point-juggling. I think that M&M is too derivative, some d20 solution are transferred without any consideration, and there is too much point-juggling.
If I had my choice in superhero RPG, I'd lean towards Savage...
I happen to disagree. In my opinion, new Manual of the Planes is an excellent position, and a great source of information to a DM.

So, okay, I know about the crisis, but firing of the one of the chief designers of the new product, regardless of anything, seems like a shot in one's own foot. Pretty suicidal action.
So I've been thinking on the conversion to 4e. Some of my players dislike the simplified skill system, but I rather enjoy it. Nevertheless, some of the accusations are pretty grave:
"Oh noes, no Perform skill?! There will be no bards!" "No Craft skill? How does anyone make things in the world"...
I don't have the problems with meters sounding too modern. It's natural for a person from Europe to say that something is a kilometer away, even when we pretend to be elves.
To be honest I expected this reaction. It is a pity that the man who has created the hobby that has given birth to so many friendships and wonderful moments won't see its newest release.
I am willing to chip in with the dungeon idea, but I also have another idea.
