My opinions is still being misrepresented and my posts still quoted and I can't even write a comment to clarify them without braking the rules. *sigh*

Thank you Morrus for providing me with a way of going to sleep without feeling like I gave up too easily. Fun discussion, everyone *tips hat*

OK. I will stick to presenting my preferred method of changing minds: I present my facts, you present yours, we both analyze them, we discuss and both walk away knowing more about both sides.

My own opinion on this one will just open another can of worms, which I would prefer to remain closed. I will, therefore, have to decline from commenting.

No. It means, let's be inclusive without actively trying to promote an agenda. Including gays characters = good. Including gay characters in order to promote a certain ideology = bad.

Both are subjective. Nothing can be wrong without some to pass judgement that is wrong. Therefore it is subjective. A green sofa in a pitch black room, however, remains green, even if I can't make out the color.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. There are a large list of tools is believe should never be used in both discussion and warfare.

No. Though I am American, I don't live in the US. I'm working abroad in the Republic of Georgia, as I have been for the past 5 years. Homosexuality can be taken very seriously here.

Well, the use of the word "wrong" already implies that it's my own, subjective opinion. He has his way. I have my way. We don't have to agree. But it also means neither of us is obligated to stand down, either.

How is the position that people are able to understand well reasoned argument a snobbish or paternalistic position? The opposite, people cannot understand well reasoned argument, seems to me much more condescending.

Because an RPG is a group activity in which many people come together to enjoy. Many friends use weekly D&D games to socialize. Those groups are dependent on all members retaining interest in the game. If WotC suddenly starts to target a specific ideology, many groups could torn apart as a...

As I said, we have a long way to come as a species with regards to reason, logic, and understanding. I will, however, not advocate for the use of the wrong tools for the right reasons.

The characters are not propaganda if there is no intent to push an agenda. The intent to push an agenda is the problem I find. Not the characters.

"Are asking for media content creators to either let their work speak for themselves" is a good idea. And while nothing can be truly apolitical, I would argue to say that there is a vast difference between D&D and The Jungle. D&D is a game you play to escape from the real world. You would only...

D&D 5E D&D Promises to Make the Game More Queer

As I said in my thought experiment above, whether you'd support the game or not is a simple choice. Of course you would give up supporting it. I would to. But it shows how the use of media as a vehicle of a specific ideology is problematic. You like the game. You want to support the game, but...

Exactly the same as I did before: that propaganda has no place in roleplaying. The argument is irrelevant. It does matter if I agree with it or not. The right place in the right place; the right time is the right time, but promoting one's agenda through a roleplaying game book certainly isn't it.

Seeing as us both have a reasonable change to present both our views in the same light and with the same resources, I'd say it's not a bad place to discuss ideology with regards to roleplaying games.
