I've had it happen, when I wanted to make a list using asterixes, and it converted it all to italics. I am happy to learn about escape codes, seeing as I really can't stand it when what I write gets changed by programming to something else. I'd rather format things manually.

I think that's one of their points for leaving the rules about it as vague as they have: It's up to the Player and their DM to decide how the character stores their armour when they "doff" it. It could shrink to a single gauntlet, fold itself into a backpack, be stored in a pocket dimension...

I concur with the OP. I also disagree about it being "generic". There are a lot of specific places and concepts that could be explored if the game really dug into it.

Now, here I just disagree: 2024 D&D has the best layout for character creation that the game has ever had. It's different than you're used to, which may throw you off, but IMO, it's a significant improvement.

That checks out with Crawford's overall style. Personally, I don't think "troll those who are overly fixated on the letter-of-the-law" is a good way to teach them to relax, even if I agree that relaxing is in all our best interests. In the very least, trolling is not very kind.

I'd argue it's the other way around - it's only pedantic to claim that they don't get high level spells because they don't cast them in the "normal way". IMO, by all reasonable measures, they absolutely have and cast high-level spells.
