For the same reason that people still play 1E, 2E, 3E, 3.5, et al - because the games are fun. Even if WotC stops supporting it immediately upon 5E's release, you don't need their support to run games or come up with new ones. There are also hundreds, if not thousands, of adventures, campaigns...
