D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

I know I certainty would be caught off guard if I was attacked by a cartwheeling Tarrasque.

D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

*googles images to double check* Eeh, blade to handle ratio is a little different and blade shapes don't seem very similar. Plus they're used completely differently from each other, so not entirely a fair comparison.

D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

Eeh, I don't really buy that explanation. Smaller things can very easily resemble larger things. Small and large rocks, small and large cats, small and large people, varying sizes of rubber band balls, etc.

D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

With the square/cube law being what it is, the Tarrasque should be lucky he can even walk, much less overhand throw hillsides.

D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

Problem is, going this way just opens a can of worms. For example, Cavalier Bob's Glaive resembles a Barbed Devil's Glaive, so he can "improvise" their Glaive attack for 5 extra damage on each of the enemy's turns.

D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

Apparently I was mistaken. Though strictly RAW is dumber than I thought. Improvised weapons that don't resemble other weapons deal only 1d4 damage. So the Tarrasque and Wizard are both going to be pinpricking each other to death, when the Tarrasque can even reach the Wizard since improvised...

D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

A houserule that I honestly agree with. Another thing I suggested elsewhere was giving the Tarrasque the ability to treat any improvised thrown weapon as having the Thrown property, so he can throw rocks, cows, chunks of building, each other, etc. That said, it's still a houserule, and I try to...

D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

Last I checked, the Tarrasque can't fly, so as soon as his upward movement ends, he falls down and then gets his attack.

D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

For weapons with the Thrown property and monster abilities that specifically use Strength. Normally, chucking improvised weapons falls under Dex.

D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

If you're going strictly by what the rules say, good luck hitting anything with that Dexterity score.

D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

Surprised the easy exploit hasn't been pointed out here yet. Fly+Acid Splash=Killed by acidic pinpricks. Garbage Dex save, Acid Splash is unaffected by Reflective Carapace, and the Tarrasque has no way to handle flyers outside of houserules. A couple level 5 Wizards(at minimum, higher...

D&D 5E DAOM IS DEAD DEAD DEAD!!!!

Awesome. I suppose spells doing damage on a successful save is next on the chopping block then?

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Encounter Difficulty?

One note for Pathfinder(though I blame this mostly on it being a 3.5 derivative) is to take CR rating with a hefty grain of salt. CR in 3.5 was very badly designed and a creature's CR and actual difficulty were at best very tangentially-related. For example, the Monstrous Crab(nicknamed "That...

    Devil worship as a brand

Please no. I've only started D&D recently, but the whole satanic vibe is what put me off of it for the longest time, and even today I still have idiots who assume I'm slipping into satan worship because I'm playing a freakin roleplaying game. My first experience with D&D was playing as a Cleric...

Is something that's not being discussed, we're talking about Pathfinder.

Pathfinder 1E a real pathfinder fix thread... PF2e

Off-topic. The thread is to discuss fixes for Pathfinder. Telling people to go play another game has nothing to do with the topic.

Pathfinder 1E So what do you think is wrong with Pathfinder? Post your problems and we will fix it.

Uh...you mean aside from the times when I gave a perfectly good reason why they'd work? Besides, 4e itself says the DM is free to veto power use if there's no reasonabl way it could be used. yes, I call it non-magical because it fits the criteria for being non-magic. I don't see what part of...

Using magic items to replicate being a Wizard is playing pretend Wizard. Stop being obtuse.
