Do We Still Need "Oriental Adventures"?

There is already a game for this on the app store, it's called the WP 5000. You take a picture of yourself and then, merely by analyzing the color of your skin, it tells you how guilty you are for all problems, across all times and places. You can configure it to monitor your social media...

Coming in May: Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes! [UPDATED!]

My only hope is that this book has a magical item like the Skull of Mondain, that when used, instantly kills all elf and dwarf subraces not found in the PHB.

It's like, not killing Hitler, who is your father.

We saw a Star War! Last Jedi spoiler thread

I disagree When it came time to jump off the cliff into the dark side, he resisted by not killing his farther. He lowered his weapon, and that's why the emperor had to kill him. He rested being turned to the dark side. Which is a very different thing than giving in to its temptations.

We saw a Star War! Last Jedi spoiler thread

I think I can live with Luke's fate in this movie. Of course, there are were far too many other problems. When the purple haired aposematic from the Hunger Games made an entrance and unloaded several plot hole turds, I lost interest rather quickly. It was at that point that I realized I...

We saw a Star War! Last Jedi spoiler thread

I was hoping The Last Jedi would use the fact that he actually did give in the dark side during that encounter. Perhaps fear of the dark side within would be a reason for his self isolation. Of course Luke was strong enough to kick Vader in, he just didn't expect to be on the receiving...

    D&D sci-fi setting?

Thanks I'll certainly check them out. I totally forgot about blade runner, despite having loved both movies.

    D&D sci-fi setting?

That is very close to what I had in mind. Except, they are living on an artificial Dyson Swarm created by beings that have long since perished (or evolved themselves via a singularity). In ages past, Earth like planets in the system that once harbored life were completely...

    D&D sci-fi setting?

oh yes, I should have said that the Andriods don't know who created them. The idea of biological life is simply a legend. Of course, at some point in the very distance past they were build by some form of humanoid life form.

    D&D sci-fi setting?

Hi, Can anyone recommend a setting that is focused on Android player races? I was thinking about starting a new sci-fi D&D campaign. Specifically, I'm wondering if anyone has seen an RPG setting in which everyone is an android/cyborg of some kind. The campaign setting I'm looking to...

    D&D 2E Is 5e Basically Becoming Pathfinder 2e?

You're probably fortunate they don't want to play in your game. You should feel good that you're weeding them out. They clearly have a play-style that is not the same as yours. Advertise for players who are new to the game and see if that helps. Even if WoC didn't publish extra options...

    D&D 5E UA: "Greyhawk" Initiative

You've never rolled for initial encounter distance have you? In a recent game I played, the characters encountered a group of trolls who were 5 rounds away. They had a blast using their range weapons and spells as the trolls foolishly charged the party. The ranger of the group was quite...

    D&D 5E UA: "Greyhawk" Initiative

Some editions of D&D provided an AoO against unarmed characters attacking a weapon wielding opponent. IMO, the use of a dagger isn't much different in many situations. Weapon speeds make perfect sense for sledge hammers, crossbows, spells, etc), but there needs to be an additional...

    D&D 5E UA: "Greyhawk" Initiative

The problem with weapon speed is that it doesn't take into account what your opponent is wielding. Your attack roll represents an opportunity to inflict injure your opponent. In actual fact, the guy with the pike would be more likely to keep the idiot with a dagger at bay (under normal...

D&D 5E Why I Am Starting to Prefer 4d6 Drop the Lowest Over the Default Array.

With rolling for stats, in a single moment your character's life is instantly and brutally reduced from such infinite potentials down to one concrete set of expectations and stereotypes, and any behavioral deviation from that will be severely punished—both intentionally through envy, and...
