D&D 5E Out of the abyss review

http://5eddnd.blogspot.ca/ Developed by Green Ronin Publishing this module is the next in the DND 5th edition lineup The first thing I noticed with this book was the very high price. 64$ in Canada and 50$ in the usa, Yet some online sellers have it for almost half that. A bit more of an...

D&D 5E Princes of the Apocalypse First session

From what I have seen of the adventure location setups for 1st level be sure to run zombies as dumb as possible and dont run the first few enemy npc with much brainpower or you can so totally overwhelm starting characters with even a bit of tactics lol

D&D 5E Princes of the Apocalypse First session

http://5eddnd.blogspot.ca/ On reading through the intro 1st level encounters and side quests in chapter 6 I decided to have my established 3rd level party start right from that point and not from the 3rd level point. I purchased and printed out the players copies of red larch and the valley...

The Second PRINCES OF THE APOCALYPSE Review

Well the darksun section is 2 1/4 pages long. talks about the setting, background options, athasian cult changes for the elemental eye cult and how it interacts with the elemental priesthoods. Factions on athas fills out the rest. Its really well done actually. I ran a darksun game once for 2...

    D&D 5E Identify

remember in this edition everything is optional. Personally I kicked out the short rest identification so a wizard-less party needs to play with an item or seek out a sage.

The Second PRINCES OF THE APOCALYPSE Review

EN World member Brian Michaluk is the second person out of the gate with a review of Princes of the Apolocalyse, the upcoing D&D 5th Edition hardback adventure. He says it's much better than the previous three adventures (by which he means Lost Mine of Phandelver, which I thought was rather...

The Second PRINCES OF THE APOCALYPSE Review

seems your assuming this book is the same as some other book without ever seeing it. Most pages are like the following (made small and blurry so it should be ok to post) Also the book is not made by wizards of the coast. Its by Sasquatch game studio which seems to be mostly ex wizards employees...

The Second PRINCES OF THE APOCALYPSE Review

Personally I prefer no stats in the module and have it packed full of more adventure which this module seems to have done really well. I always liked having my adventure book open on the left and monster stat book on the right at my game table but I built a custom game table out of an old pool...

The Second PRINCES OF THE APOCALYPSE Review

I am sure they will have a web supplement as they did say there would be one for each module set but even if not or its late a person could always just use the stats of something else of the same CR and just SAY its a whatever.

D&D 5E Did The Finished 5th Edition Change Anyone's Mind?

Playtest had its up's and downs. plenty of good and plenty of weird so I was not sure what the final product would be like. The final 5th ed basic rules pack totally convinced me they finally recreated the excitement of 2nd ed and its not failed my two groups since I bought the books and...

The Second PRINCES OF THE APOCALYPSE Review

Ahh yeah its possible they will put out a supplement with all the monsters in it but that would be a heck of a lot of freebies if they do. From the look of this module it uses a heck of a lot of the MM. I never worried about it as I buy all the books. Honestly I would find it a little odd if a...

The Second PRINCES OF THE APOCALYPSE Review

Doing a quick scan through the book looking for monsters not in the basic package. Scout - MM only Veteran - MM only Ankheg - MM only Merrow - MM only Jackelware - MM only that's 3 pages looked over and found 5 monsters already so yes MM is needed

The Second PRINCES OF THE APOCALYPSE Review

Even just the random encounter chart requires the MM let alone individual detailed areas that uses monsters from the MM not included in the book. Not sure if the free basic supplement has all the monsters or not though. Page 17 has a reference stating that if a monster is not statted in chapter...
