yes, but the statblock represents what an npc can or cannot do even outside of battle. I can understand the new policy regarding spells with random npc and monsters, but not with important figures such as that of Vecna

Any statblock of Vecna that has not the words "Vecna is a 20th level spellcaster" in it... is to be changed 😂

I tend to agree. while it's nice to have a more detailed setting, there is like a LOT of prose and descriptions. What the new edition need is more content regarding how to run a campaign set in Eredane and more plot hooks for DMs to follow. I really hope the new edition has those

I have a twilight cleric in the party I DM. So, well, Thas is allowed. While I like most of Tasha's stuff, I don' like the custom lineages and races. I have allowed only to swap the +1 of the races to any ability score that is important to the class you're playing.

Yeah, legates were mostly npcs tho.. the absence of clerics in 3.5 parties was felt a lot.

TBH Midnight gave the chance to play orcs in such a setting in 2000, before all this. So I think it's fine :) Also orcs in Midnight, as in LOTR are basically the dark lord's chosen race... so well.. it's heroic fantasy in an age of shadow. If your game can't bear the oppresive evil of Eredane...

They also added 2 classes, the wildlander who is basically a spell-less ranger and the defender (hate that name) which is a non-mystical monk. I think both of them should be brought back, even if I would change the defender's name and flavour.

The setting itself is already great.. What it just needs is more material on creating adventures. What they need to get right is the rules part. in 3e they added a lot of special rules, and while I'm sure many of them will be present in the 5e version, i think many of them would be a bit too...

Dragon Kings is ispired by Dark Sun of course but it's a completely new world. I won't say it's a prequel to Dark Sun

I would have liked more than the 17 pages of names a full reprint of the character options in the SCAG, since I do not own a copy of it. Most of the options are generic anyway. I'm pretty disappointed.
