There is some contention about 1st level character Hit Points (low), so, I thought of starting 1st level characters off with 2 or 3 HD, and then gaining their 2nd or 3rd HD, when they reach 2nd, or 3rd level, respectively. Sort of harkens back to the 1st Ed Monk and Ranger, starting with 2 HD...
